The Kingdom

You appreciate the irony, right? We live in a land without a proper king. Just got a Duke. So our boy figures, might as well make our little family a bit of a royal family, a kingdom of thieves. So that's what it was called for a while. But then people thought it was just easier to call us "The Kingdom" and that stuck. So now here you are, a vassal in our little kingdom. You give The King your solemn word that you'll look out for The Kingdom, and the King, well he'll look out for you.

Structure

The Kingdom is ruled by the King of Thieves. He operates through his selected Counts and Countesses. They in turn rule over a group of knights, with squires being the newcomers to the operation. 
It is said that no one below the Count/Countess level has ever met the King, and those that have never saw his face.

Culture

You keep your mouth shut. You do your job. You get paid when you should. You pay out when you are asked. You are loyal to The King. Follow the rules and you will be golden.
Offer help to those that are being harassed by the higher ups in life. Nothing is for free, but they can always make a deal. They don't step on the Duke or his military's toes, and even make sure bribes get paid in that direction from time to time. This is why the organization is allowed to exist.

Public Agenda

The Duke doesn't care. The Lords don't care. The Order doesn't care. The Arcanum doesn't care. The Gods don't care. 
The Kingdom doesn't care either, but it doesn't pretend to. You want money? You make money with The Kingdom.

Assets

It is understood that The Kingdom holds control of most of The Nest and a good portion of the Old Quarter. It is suspected that they have an interest in several inns, taverns, brothels and gambling houses in the city. It is believed they have grifters, scammers and a network of spy and informers throughout the city.
Like any good royal family, The King and the Counts and Countesses are supposed to be very wealthy and connected.
