History
All Zartrizoas and
Zartriites were created by the
Solar Triad using
zarkyst-powered genetic engineering in the mid-21st century.
The Triad's experiments and the first generation of the species were discovered by
Hugh Larsson Cassidy-Smith, who shut down the program, took the genetically-engineered creations back in time and found them safe habitats, where they lived and grew hidden from the majority of the human race for centuries.
In the early 22nd century, knowledge of the zartri species became public. While most Zartriites were fighting for their own rights, many also took up the cause of having Zartrizoas given protected status in law. At the turn of the 23rd century, this was finally completed. Some Zartrizoas can be domesticated and are permitted as pets with a license.
