Gatherings and Occasions on Bo Kae

On the planet Bo Kae, there are two types of event. A gathering is informal, while an occasion is formal. Occasions are extremely important, and some elements are unique to the planet.   While a gathering is put together by the host--an example would be an informal dinner party or a meetup with friends--an occasion requires hiring an Occasion Planner, in order to get all the components in place. An occasion, such as a wedding, auction or large party, does not necessarily legally require all of these components, but they are deeply ingrained in the culture and many consider it bad luck if not all met.   The most unusual feature of any occasion is the presence of stolen objects, the acquisition of which is the speciality of the Occasion Planner. The Occasion Planner must have a license in order for this to be legal. They are also required to return whatever they stole for the occasion within a certain time frame in its original condition.   The source of this tradition comes from Bo Kae's history, as the first settlers on the planet were thieves, who made the planet habitable using stolen terraforming technology. This aspect of the planet's history is honoured by the presence of certain (legally) stolen items at occasions. It is the only planet in the known universe to have such traditions.
