The Sterling Salerno

The Sterling Salerno was originally bred for its practical uses including military service and general labor. The sterling family deciding to join into the aristocratic hobbies of breeding has focused on this rare horse seeking to preserve its bloodline. While breeding produces bay, chestnut, grey and black coated horses the black are the only ones chosen to be an official Sterling Salerno. All house Sterling horses derive from this bloodline in an attempt to preserve it and continue to strengthen the bloodline. Black horses are chosen to be trained to military application. Only those who exhibit good training and temperament are allowed to continue on to the house Sterling stables.
The current prized Sterling Salerno is a stallion with a grooming routine that includes braiding of hair with trinkets and baubles of silver, and precious gems. The Salerno will only tolerate a Sterling rider or the official trainer. Attempting to ride a Sterling Salerno is often met with the horse itself attacking.
