Leviathan Bay
Found in the far north, Leviathan Bay features several islands that form a link between the land-dwellers and the people of the sea.
Leviathan Bay is one of three points in the world where the peoples of the deep sea come together with the people of the land. Legally, it's considered to be a country in its own right.
The main feature of Leviathan Bay over Ovani Bay or Xoj is the archipelago that stretches through the middle of the bay. Some of them are uninhabitable, since they flood regularly with the changing seasons and tides, but they still form valuable meeting places for the people of the sea and the people of the land.
There's another collection of islands that feature natural pitfalls that make it difficult for people to live there. Some are simply little more than large rocks.
There are about twenty islands that cluster just inside of the mouth of the bay where people live. In very old times, each island was home to an individual family. Thankfully, the populations have diversified somewhat since then and grow in a genetically sustainable way.
Visibly the islands are difficult to tell apart, and newcomers often end up on the wrong island at least once.
In terms of philosophy, however, each island is seen as a "child" of the bay, that each group is essentially a sibling of the other. They can be intensely territorial within themselves, but they fiercely defend the islands from all outsiders as if they'd never quarreled ever.
The islands are noted for being able to produce particular magical herbs that grow extremely well.
The peoples who live below the waves are as staunch defenders of Leviathan Bay as those above. There's a rather intricate system of valleys and caverns that make for good living places, and thus they're accustomed to remaining in close proximity to land-dwellers.
