Leinant
Leinants are the sub-category of Descant that deals with the present day. They are noted for their charitable dealings, their physical art, and their devotion to education and development of young people.
In contrast to vestants and marcants, the leinants symbolically deal with the present moment. Their art is expected to portray current events, and their endeavors focus on charitable actions that benefit people in the here and now.
While one might expect the vestants to take on the role of teacher (and they often do), leinants take up these roles in a less specific way. While vestants teach the history that they know so expertly, leinants will frequently take on the apprenticeship of the other descants, and will set up classes and courses for the young people of the area they're in to make sure that young people can learn and grow.
The idea behind this is that they mean to act in the present so that society can grow and develop and become what it needs to be to thrive and grow.
They are more settled than most other descants. While they still tend to be more transitory than a lot of other careers, their choice of actions means that they spend a lot of time focused on specific objectives. They will typically either settle in one area and focus on assisting one town, or else they will loop through a set area and seed things in that space.
Leinants are among the better regarded of the three kinds of descants. Vestants are thought to have odd opinions sometimes, and marcants are considered to have their heads in the clouds of the future, but leinants who spend all their time helping people in need are highly respected. This does not always translate to actual assistance in these matters, but when they're written about they are at least usually described nicely.
