Navigator's Guild
It is settled fact that the world is not round as many once thought, but is instead a torus. It is said this is one of the first things all navigators learn. In a world with no magnetic poles and a chaotic night sky there was no agreed upon way for giving proper navigational directions. Which made moving from town to town a trick of using landmarks, but made trying to navigate over the waves nearly impossible. Thus in the early days of the Kaelic Empire the Guild of Navigators and Cartographers was founded to solve the problems of devising a way to reliably know where in the world you were and what was around you.
Overtime the world was mapped and various magical guidestones errected and the whole world was mapped. With members of the guild being the only ones who know how to tap into the guidestones to provide location all naval commerce was forced to rely upon them. Overtime the name of the guild has been changed to the Navigator's Guild or often just The Guild.
Guild navigators dress in light blue and have intricate bronze bracers. They use these bracers as part of their magic to connect to the guidstones and display their currently location. They're also able to use the network of guidestones to view the current weather across the planet and give warning to their employers of oncomming storms.
Navigators are treated as neutral parties wherever they go, as it is said that those that kill a navigator will find the magic bracer transfered onto themselves. Once this happens the bracer is said to cause the killer imense pain until they visit a guild outpost to pay penance and have the cuff removed.
