Aebbiran (Ay-bur-ran)
Aebbiran is the realm of competition
Aebbiran consists, primarily, of a near infinite plane of existence. This plane is governed by the elder god Metaes, The Skilled. Who shaped it into a large expansive garden, filled with a diverse array of flora. Each flora corresponds to a specific entity that resides within the garden. These entities are the Talented. The Talented hold frequent tournaments, contests, and other competitions where they can regularly display feats of strength and power. The stronger the showing, the more their corresponding flora flourishes. The 100 most powerful entities make up the Garden's Council.
The lower half of the council are regularly changing. Those in the lower half hold many contests in attempts to raise their standing and strength. Often over exerting themselves and falling to another. While those ranging from 49 to 11 rarely shift, and the top 10 are near constant. The council is held every century to convene on matters of state. Be it about the garden itself or those who reside within. Occasionally the council is gathered to provide insight and judgement on certain topics, however for the most part, any altercation, disagreement, or dispute are usually resolved through a 1-on-1 Test of Talent.
The victor of the test would rise in ranking while the loser descends. Most often, entities would only challenge those that are one rank higher than it. However there have been times where ambitious entities have sought battles well above their ranks. Many fail in their endeavors, but a few have succeeded. Those that have would gain the rank of the challenged, and knocking it and any entities in between down a rank as well. Entities that fall in the tests return to the Garden. Feeding its soil and enriching the life with their own souls. Ending their stories and becoming one with the universe. For the primary way an entity first enters the Garden of Talent is by their mortal life perishing in battle.
When a creature dies, if it was ended before its natural conclusion and its soul was not otherwise claimed, it will find itself sprouting in the dirt on the outskirts of the Garden. It awakens with no memories of its past life nor how it got there. However it retains any scars or altercations its physical body received. Entities are often seen with scars on vital parts of their body, often indicating the manner in which it died. Entities would sprout, grow, and, awaken on their own if given the chance, although that chance is often stolen by Harvesters.
Harvesters are entities that roam the Garden's outskirts looking for sprouts. Grabbing and shackling them to use in the barter of souls. Weaker beings who often met ill-fates in their mortal life are considered Casualties Of War by the general populace. These are beings who can't hold their own in a fight and get stuck as a trinket for sale and work. This is how most sprouts begin their story in Aebbiran. Some prove they can fight and gain their freedom. But rarely do they gain the respect of some Talented who still refer to them as COWs.
Geography
Aebbiran consists of layered planes. Connecting through various forms of flora up until reaching the primary plane, the Garden of Talent. The garden is near infinite and ever expanding as more entities sprout from the dirt. It forms a rough ellipse with two foci, the magnificent oak and great stump. These two organisms are thought to be primordial. Ever-present as long as Aebbiran has existed. It is fairly common knowledge that the magnificent oak is the governor's floral representation, however very few if any know who or what the great stump is tied to.
Many rumors fertilize the garden suggesting the stump's entity and their fate, but any truth to these rumors have not been confirmed. It is generally considered, however, that whatever the entity was has met their true end, and given the size, must've been nearly as powerful as the governor Metaes. The great stump has since been hollowed and arranged to hold meetings for the garden's council. Each council member having their own throne resembling their floral counterpart mixed with the wood of the great stump.
Surrounding these two foci are multitudes of flora consisting of varying degrees of size, sprawl, and flourishment. The larger the flora, the more powerful the Talent. When a Talent grows strong enough, their floral counterpart grows to contain a sub-plane that embodies the entity. These sub-planes are where the Talent often resides and trains. They create arenas and trials within their floral domain to test themselves and would-be challengers.
