Celebration of Mora
30th of Verdure
Observance
A smaller feast day of Mora, celebrating the god's work in preserving life. The festival begins at dawn, starting with light meals of fresh fruit, yogurts, grains, juices, and teas, most commonly those found in temperate regions. Honey is generally used as a sweetener in the day's foods rather than sugars or artificial sweeteners. Participants of the holiday are expected to bathe before noon in milk, honey, and oatmeal bathes and as per most regions' traditions, washing the hair or feathers on this day is not permitted. In the most northern regions, this is generally considered the last possible date to begin growing sprouts, lettuces, and beans before winter and often spent planting in farming regions. Temporary shrines and altars to Mora are often built specifically for the celebration and to be burned at dusk, their ashes mixed into the soil before a well, spring, or irrigation channel.
