His parents struggled against the relentless decay of their home, unable to afford even the most basic repairs as their house slowly crumbled around them. It was within this backdrop of despair that Yuri’s path took a fateful turn.
When Viktor Sorik assumed control of Chernorov, Yuri was among those selected to serve in the new Gospodar’s household. He quickly distinguished himself, not through talent or skill, but through his exceptional ability to grovel, cater to Viktor’s every whim, and flatter his ego. His toadying won him favor, setting him apart from his peers and eventually earning him the role of Viktor’s personal aide.
However, this ascent came at a cost. The townspeople, already burdened by Viktor’s oppressive rule, scorned Yuri for his sycophancy.
