Orc Perks

Back to the Corvans Page: Corvans

Race Overview

Inherent Racial Ability:
  • With a 6 hour long ritual, which you must perform when sleeping, you change between the forms listed in the Orc Forms page.
  Point Balance: 18
Size: Medium
Language: You know International, Orcish, and Goblin.
Age: Lurrashen are considered mature around 15 years old and live around 70 years.
Physical Description: The Lurrashen have a similar build to Humans, although they are naturally far more muscular and about a foot taller on average. Their skin color ranges are light gray, light green, and dark green. Lurrashen typically have a far denser musculature when compared to other Humanoids, meaning that even an average Lurrashen can perform feats of strength that would require years of training in other species even outside of Warrior Form.
Social Difficulty: 2. Goblins and Orcs have had little contact with Isan until very recently. After the failure of the Evervictorious Army in the Gray War against Chevel, many of the survivors have spread across Isan. Some Corvans, known as the "Orcsairs" have taken to a life of piratical raiding all across Isan and are based primarily on the island of Attar in Kanwinnic. Because of this, they might be viewed with some distrust until proving they are not an Orcsair. Among Chevelians, however, their Social Difficulty increases to a 3-4.

Madness Table

Only select from this table if your character has, or develops, magical abilities that they use often. Generally, madness is not a game-breaking or especially detrimental feature for Orc players.
Die RollMadness Trait
1 You're sure you're being watched by an enemy from far away. They won't take steps to harm you and will instead just watch you from the shadows or some other hard-to-see place.
2 You speak to yourself in a made-up language. You can write what you say down, but cannot read it after five minutes. Spells like Comprehend Language does not yield any results when reading this.
3 You're plagued with small hallucinations such as eyes in the dark or walls that flow like liquid before returning to a solid state. As a result, you often seem withdrawn or emotionless to other people in trying to process this.
4 You hear the voice of a long-dead person, yourself from a past life. They occasionally give you advice, but more often than not lament the failures of their life to you.
5 You believe you have some sort of incredible power such as being able to see the way you'll die. Under logical scrutiny, this doesn't hold up. For example, a person that knows how they will die will often come up with completely different ways they'll die and believe both of them.
6 You have a deep distrust of some mundane item. For example, not drinking wine as you believe it destroys the strength of your spirit.

Changeling -4 You lose access to the Orc Forms and may only be in the "Changeling" form:
As an Action, you can transform your appearance or revert to your natural form. You can’t duplicate the appearance of a creature you’ve never seen, and you revert to your natural form if you die.
You decide what you look like, including your height, weight, facial features, the sound of your voice, coloration, hair length, sex, and any other distinguishing characteristics. You can make yourself appear as a member of another race, though none of your game statistics change. You also can’t appear as a creature of a different size than you, and your basic shape stays the same; if you’re bipedal, you can’t use this trait to become quadrupedal, for instance. Your clothing and other equipment don’t change in appearance, size, or shape to match your new form, requiring you to keep a few extra outfits on hand to make the most compelling disguise possible.
Even to the most astute observers, your ruse is usually indiscernible. If you rouse suspicion, or if a wary creature suspects something is amiss, you have Advantage on any Deception check you make to avoid detection.
Mimicry 2 Your shape-changing abilities allow you to easily adopt the voices of other creatures. You can mimic sounds you have heard, including voices. A creature that hears the sounds you make can tell they are imitations with a successful Insight check contested by your Deception check.
Raven-Marked 3 You are Raven-Marked, a mark of your invaluable service to the Raven Empire. You have a pair of raven tattoos on your shoulder. Once per long rest, you may cast the spell Find Familiar but you may only summon a Raven with the type Celestial. When you use this perk, one of your raven tattoos disappears. You can recreate this tattoo using 10 gp of ink suitable for a Spellbook and an hour of work. Casting this spell does not affect your madness.
Omarin's Intervention 4 Once per long rest, you may cast Spiritual Weapon at second level. This spell does not require Verbal or Somatic components. Casting this spell does not affect your madness.
Of Two Worlds 9 If you have the perk "Changeling," you regain use of the Orc Forms, with the Changeling abilities being able to be accessed in any form.
