Gnome Perks

Go back to Dwarffolk Article: Dwarffolk

Race Overview

Inherent Abilities:
  • Whenever you make an Intelligence-based skill check or use an Artisan’s Tool, you may add 1d4 to your roll.
  • You know the Prestidigitation cantrip, and the total number of its non-instantaneous effects you can have at once is increased by an amount equal to your Spellcasting modifier (minimum of 1)
  • You have Advantage on checks to determine how a nonmagical device functions.
  • You are immune to the effects of alcohol, although you experience similar effects from Capsaicin.
Point Balance: 22
Size: Small
Speed: 25ft
Language: You know International and Gnomish.
Age: Gnomes are mature upon hatching and live up to 90 years.
Physical Description: Gnomes appear similar to their Dwarvish relatives, but are shorter and skinnier than either. Gnomish skin tone is random, with it being not too uncommon for brothers to look almost unrelated. Their hair color, on the other hand, depends on the gemstone that they were hatched from. Gnomes hatched from lapis or sapphires have blue hair, rubies have red hair, jade or emerald have green, and so on.
Social Difficulty: 2. While Gnomes are well-respected for their inventions, many Gnomes in Einar help outfit and even join pirate crews, who go on to terrorize eastern Isan and even as far as Neldorand and the Seabreaker islands. Gnomes aren’t a rare sight for most people, especially in cities.

General Perks

PerkCostBoon
Augmented -1 You have mechanically and magically augmented parts of your body. Your type is now both a Humanoid and a Construct. Effects that apply to one type also apply to you. You may also pick perks from the Augmentations section.
You may also attune to an Armblade.
Magic Blood 1 You cannot be put to sleep by magical means
Blood of Thakan 2 Your magic blood gives you resistance to Force damage.
Quick Attuner 4 You may touch a magic item that requires Attunement to function and quickly create a pseudo-attunement as an Action. You can only have one pseudo-attunement at a time and you may also break this pseudo-attunement as an Action. Spells such as Dispel Magic or Antimagic Fields break this attunement. Once you create a pseudo-attunement, you may not do so again until after you have completed a Long Rest.

Augmentations

You must have the "Augmented" Perk to choose anything from this list. Augmentations stop working for one hour when Dispel Magic is cast on them, and do not work while in an Antimagic Field or similar effect.

Iron Stomach 1 You may go four times as long without food and can eat rotten food without penalty. If this stops functioning, you spend your Action sicking up.
Built-In Parachute 2 You may gain the effects of Feather Fall by using an item interaction. This ends once you land. Once you use this, you may not use it again until after you have completed a Long or Short Rest.
Integrated Tool 2 You become proficient in an Artisan's Tool of your choice. You may integrate Artisan’s Tools into your body. You have Expertise with a tool when you have it integrated into you, and it takes two hours of removal and reinstallment to change this tool. You may only switch tools if you are proficient in both tools.
Repair Module 2 Your hands have a built-in pair of lodestones that allow you to cast the Mending cantrip. You may use your hands as the material components for this spell.
Steel Lungs 2 You can hold your breath for up to 15 minutes, and have advantage on Constitution saves against gas.
Magnetic Tread 4 Once per long rest, you may cast Spider Climb on yourself.
Heart Overclocker 6 You may briefly overclock your heart to pump blood and adrenaline faster. When you fail a Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution saving throw, you may use a Bonus Action or Reaction if you are conscious to instead succeed. Once you use this ability, you may not use it again until after you have completed a Long Rest.
