Primordial Weapon Polish
Very Rare Arcane Upgrade Item
What It Is:
A thick, metallic alchemical polish stored in a sealed obsidian-glass jar, etched with binding runes. This polish does not contain elemental power on its own—it acts as a permanent conduit, allowing a weapon to bond with elemental enchantments in the future.
It’s not a temporary effect—it’s an arcane foundation, a hidden layer that prepares a weapon to be shaped by greater forces.
Functionality:
- Used Once per Weapon – The polish is a permanent upgrade. Once applied, the weapon becomes “Primordial-Reactive.”
- Permanently Alters the Weapon – Once treated, the weapon gains the Primordial Binding property.
Primordial Binding:
This weapon may receive elemental enchantments from spells, potions, ritual infusions, or magical effects—even if it is otherwise mundane. It responds to future enhancements more fluidly and with greater affinity than untreated weapons.
Benefits of Applying It:
- Permanent Upgrade Slot – Effectively adds an enchantment "socket" to the weapon. Enchantments last longer or can combine with fewer risks of conflict.
- Wider Compatibility – Works on:
- Melee weapons (blades, clubs, hammers, etc.)
- Ranged weapons (bows, crossbows, slings)
- Shields (treats them as weapons for enchantment purposes)
- Ammunition (treats as a batch: up to 20 pieces)
- No Magic Needed to Activate – The weapon remains dormant until empowered by an external magical source.
Jar Description:
- Polish Appearance: Silvery-black with faint rainbow oil-swirl patterns. Thick and slow-moving.
- Jar: Obsidian glass, reinforced with brass ringlets and capped with a stone seal stamped with an elemental sigil.
- Smell: Subtle—like ozone, burning paper, and the sharp tang of old copper.
- Arcane Aura: Slight tingling sensation upon touch. When exposed to light, it reveals hidden runic swirls under the surface.
Visual Change to Weapon:
After application, the weapon shimmers subtly under magical or moonlight. Strange runic threads coil under the surface of the metal or wood, nearly invisible but ever-present. When exposed to magical energy, the runes pulse softly, reacting like a sleeping beast stirred by distant thunder.
