"Celestial of Waters" Vertex Alsius (a.k.a. The Swirling Serpent)

Vertex at times can enjoy being a little cheeky, but when she finds herself in unknown situations, she becomes rather shy. She's protective of those she cares about, but mostly doesn't enjoy fighting. Vertex secludes herself on the Glacial Island far out in the Azure Expanse. Even though the species difference is obvious, she views Valdus as an older brother.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Vertex's Shifter Affinity allows her to change her size from a minimum length of approximately 30 cm, up to a maximum length of about 40 m. Her greatest wingspan, when at her maximum length, is approximately 60 m wide. She has a slim body with cerulean blue scales, and she has two sets of wings; two on her upper body, and two on her lower body. She also has frills around her neck, and fins running down the back of her body, down to the tip of her tail. The membranes of her wings are a darker blue than her scales. When in her Celestial form, Vertex's body coats itself in ice, and her eyes shine a darker blue.

Special abilities

Vertex wields both the Shifter Key Affinity and the Healer Key Affinity, and is greatly attuned to the Unda Base Affinity. Furthermore, Vertex is also the Celestial of Waters. Due to her attunement to Unda, she is able to - even without being the Celestial of Waters - control the surrounding ocean at will and even summon devastating storms. Being the Celestial of Waters further empowers her attunement, but also attunes her to the use of ice as well, being able to freeze things almost instantaneously, summon blizzards, and shield her entire body in near-unbreakable ice too.

Personal history

It was at a much younger age when Vertex had first learnt of the first Celestials among Eldoria. She dreamt of becoming one herself and began to search for her chance. During her search, the Corruption outbreak had reached the ocean, taking control of her, and forcing her to become Cursed. After being freed from that state by Valdus, she continued her search, and became the Celestial of Waters after fulfilling Glacio’s request. As Vertex was not born with a last name, Glacio also gave her the title "Alsius".

Likes & Dislikes

Vertex enjoys the company of others quite a lot, especially Saphira's. She loves hunting for fish, watching the waves, and swimming or flying. Vertex dislikes it when others put themselves at risk for her sake, and hates being unable to help others out. She also dislikes being teased.
