"Celestial of Sands" Avalar Lithis (a.k.a. Slumbering King)

Although he is the Celestial of Sands, Avalar prefers to let Caligra naturally shape itself, only having created the foundation and only ever waking to protect it when it truly needs it. He rests in a deep slumber far beneath the sands, but even in his sleep, can understand when a Corrupt that needs to be dealt with is present. He shows mutual respect to many, even Hackett, and is quite a close friend to Ignis.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Avalar stands far taller than Trelador and its walls. His body structure appears somewhat like an enormous crocodile, although his upper-body is more up than flat on the ground. He has two large tusks protruding forwards at the sides of his mouth, and his chin has strange, sandstone-like material which has taken a beard-like formation. While the large mountains on his back appear primarily made of sandstone, many of the formations across his back also look as if they're formed entirely of a white, bone-like material as well. Avalar’s underbelly is black and shiny, like obsidian. His feet are covered by the same bone-like material as many of the formations upon his back. His large tail also has spikes sprawled across it.

Special abilities

As the Celestial of Sands, Avalar is able to manipulate the very environment of Caligra at will. He can shift the sands beneath him, create raging sandstorms, and even form structures by controlling the land. He can also swim through the sands with ease, as if it were water.

Personal history

Being the second longest-living Celestial, closer to Ignis's lifespan than others yet still comparatively younger, Avalar holds a vast knowledge of Eldoria's past, much like the Celestial of Flames. Avalar never bothered to build Caligra like the other Celestials agreed upon for their lands though, instead allowing beasts to roam wildly throughout the dunes, and for the sands to shift each night. He still vowed to keep watch over it, and protect it from anything like the Corrupt if need be, before entering his first deep slumber. He had only awoken once before Valdus's arrival, before resting again until he found the chance to finish Drach't off at last. During his first awakening he came across an unlikely adventurer - Hackett - who vowed to the Celestial to watch over Caligra as well.
