Kon Yutsue

Kon at most times is rather timid. She finds it difficult to cope around most others, but when around those she gets to know well, she feels comfortable and can become attached quite easily. No matter how shy becomes, what she hates the most is being alone. She is Blood-Linked to Valdus, and is the host to a Dweller named Sanguis, who was born from her Tainted condition.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Kon's appearance primarily resembles a fennec fox. She has soft, vibrant orange fur which resembles a calming fire, and across the sides of her body are vibrant, red swirling markings. Another red marking sits on her face, on the fur around her left eye, shaped like flickering flame. Kon has heterochromatic eyes – both her eyes being gold with tints of blood red. The upper hind of her legs and the tip of her tail are a solid shape, resembling more swirling fire. Though most of her fur is orange, the colour gradients to a dark red when it reaches the fur that resembles fire at the hinds of her legs and the tip of her tail. When using her magic, a faint golden or red flame surrounds her, which she can control like tendrils, most often to wield the katana she summons.

Special abilities

Kon wields the Etheritus Key Affinity in the form of golden or red fire. She also wields the Weapon-Dancer Affinity, allowing her to summon a katana by her side at will, which she usually wields by using her ethereal flames. When her magic heightens so do the flames, but before her Tainted condition was stabilised, her flames would become unstable after a certain degree. When utilising her Blood-Link, her ethereal flames scorch her surroundings. When casting her flames on her allies it coats them in a deeply comforting warmth. Her ethereal flames have a limit of 10 metres.

Apparel & Accessories

Kon wears a straw hat, and a broad necklace made of hemp around her neck. Along the rope-like necklace are three sets of red paper, each shaped like diamonds, all in a set of three. She also wields a katana that has a handle covered and adorned by red strings. The katana has no sheathe.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Kon was born to two Fangs that were captive to humans, and she was raised solely for the slaughtering of Corruption. Without freedom, she was forced to scour the Cardinal Plains and hunt down Corrupt. When she wasn't hunting, she was still mistreated. The humans of the village misunderstood trust meant to the Fangs, and thus Kon was forced to pledge loyalty to one as her 'master' – a deranged human named Mirium. After Mirium had deceived Kon and abandoned her for what an deal offered by Gaur, Valdus and Kaenrae later found her on the verge of death. With Lilith's help, they were able to bring her to a safe recovery. Since then she has felt indebted to Valdus, who first took initiative to rescue her - in her eyes at least - and chose to devote her trust to him. After she established her Blood-Link with Valdus, she found herself becoming even further attached to him.

Mental Trauma

Kon struggles heavily with social interaction, but suffers from loneliness at the same time. She fears being mistreated as she once was in her early life, and also fears her magic becoming unstable, even after encountering Sanguis. What she fears the most though is being either misunderstood or abandoned again.

Kon enjoys the company of those she knows well, and loves getting attention and affection. She greatly dislikes being on her own, and while she dislikes having to fight, she hates feeling like a burden.
