This much more dire and dystopian version of reality forms the basis of the world the C.U.N.T.S. find themselves in.
Compared to Reality 69, the world population is much lower, estimated to be sitting around 3.5 billion worldwide. Of that population there is an even higher percentage of the population that shows Neohuman capabilities due to the deadly attrition rate of the standardized schooling that results in all but the most exceptional "normal" humans dying or dropping out of society. There is a stark divide in the quality of life between those that support and work with the Federal Unitary Council of Knowledgable Sentries(F.U.C.K.S.) and those that would resist them.
For those that participate in the system, the complex infrastructure designed and reportedly directly administered by C.O.L.U.M.B.O itself, provides both purpose and support. A rigorous battery of testing of various types determines the natural inclination, talent , skill set and developmental aptitude of each citizen, assigning them a job and salary. Even the most unskilled and non-functional citizen is still entitled to a level of basic sustenance that assured they can get by day-to-day, although very few of those citizens can be found to weigh down the system.
For those who shun the F.U.C.K.S embrace, the world is a harsh and difficult place. Access to the public services and many public areas requires presentation of valid citizenry implants. Waste and refuse are tightly controlled and regularly destroyed, while few non-digital currencies are accepting in 'civilized' areas. This has lead to a robust barter and trade system amongst the small clutches of exiles and reprobates that continue to try to scrabble out a living. This is complicated by the fact that all major cities and connecting transit routes (freeways, rail lines, waterways, air channels, etc.) are considered no-fly, no-crossing zones for unauthorized traffic. This has prevented these disparate groups from organizing in any significant way to create an effective resistance. Only the occasional teleporter or telepath has been able to maintain what connections there are. Any group like this that grows too big has been known to draw a quick and devastating raid by the F.U.C.K.S. Power Corps. Knowledge of other Realities is fairly common, however the means to actually utilize this knowledge is very rare. Most groups are simply doing everything they can just to survive week-to-week.
