Session 8

General Summary

Of Bridges and Backstories

After leaving the Inn at Greymeadow, the group set off North-East to The Bridge of Darstag. Whilst there, Yippity Snotklor cleverly disguised himself to not have trouble with Dwarven border patrols.

The Giftshop

Whilst at the bridge, Yippity purchased some Bridge of Darstag merchandise and listened to Uminkort Grundbree's retelling of Darstag's tale.

The Tale of Dar'veth and Stag Stonebreaker

Both sides of the bridge were built simultaneously, an impressive feat by the architects involved. Each side had a mighty protector, Dar'veth of the Elves and Stag Stonebreaker of the Dwarves.

Dar’veth and Stag had sworn to duel once the bridge was complete, earning the land of ashfields for whichever country won, and thus many people came to watch. However, during the duel, the heavy footfall on the newly made bridge awakened an ancient beast from within the ravine. An ancient copper Dragon threatened the bridge and went to destroy the people on it. Dar’veth and Stag immediately teamed up and fought the Dragon, with the two eventually climbing up its hide and forcing it to ground in the ravine below.

Huge statues of both warriors were erected in their honour next to the bridge, and although a clear winner was never decided, the stubborness of the dwarves held true, with the Elves eventually settling for having a borderhouse at the bridge, but giving the lands to the Dwarves.

Campfire Stories

The group travelled on past the bridge and eventually found a nice place to camp just before dark. Novita, Yippity, Silas and Stolas shared parts of their pasts and their reasons for adventuring, while Rupert remained quiet about his past.

While taking watches, Novita woke everyone and alerted them to the presence of intruders in the camp.

These intruders are assassins from the Herzon's Shadow, claiming to be here for Silas and Rupert.
