General Summary
Chasing a Shadow
The Nameless Ones begin their investigations into finding the presence of the Herzon's Shadow by exploring the markets. They peruse the market in hopes of finding tips about the group of thieves and eventually stumble upon the shop Bizzle's Bizarre Bazaar. Yippity is uncomfortable at the thought of entering but eventually the groups curiosity gets the better of them as they head inside.
A Bizarre Bazaar
Inside the Bazaar the group finds a Goblin woman named Bogsi who runs the establishment chatting with her new business partner. The business partner is a well dressed pale Elf and introduces himself to the group as Romil Ruamista. The group quickly discover that Romil is the Herzon's Shadow agent known as The Rotten Raven who they had encountered before. Romil states that he got out of the group and now is looking fo business ventures elsewhere, having been tipped off that the Bazaars owner Bizzle had been found dead. Romil has partnered with Bogsi to help continue the business. He tips the group off that lots of merchants pay the Shadow a protection fee to ensure that their business aren't hit by the group. Otherwise he seems unable to divulge further knowledge of the groups whereabouts.
As they go to leave, Aelyse spots a painting on the wall of the moon and it begins to shimmer as if it were real. She hears a voice calling out to her and asks her to reconsider their path advised by the Raven. The voice informs her of a separate route to finding the Shadow via a shipment that is to take place at night at the docks. This shipment is profitable to one of the Az'ean lords and could be a likely target for the Shadow.
Aelyse shares the news with the group and stresses that it comes from Khenshu, The Moon God and one of the three gods worshipped by her Druid Circle.
Considering their options, the group decide to take the chance on the shipment at the docks.
Port Preparations
They make their way to the port and speak with the dockmaster. He tells them that there are a few shipments coming in after hours but generally none that aren't on schedule. With some clever words Rupert and Stolas manage to find out about a shipment happening at 11pm. The group begin to set up, strategically positioning themselves at various points to gain an advantage in the possible fight ahead.
Death at the Docks
The group waits and when it gets to a little before 11pm a ship sails in, it is met by Sev Glitterclaws who begins barking orders to the dockyard workers nearby to help unload the cargo, however, the dockyard workers shine with illusory magic and reveal themselves to be agents of the Herzon's Shadow. They go to attack Sev but as they do, The Nameless Ones jump into action. The fight seems to be in favour of The Nameless Ones who positioned well, but due to a lucky shot from a Herzon's Shadow agent, Stolas gets killed as a poisoned bolt hits his heart.
Instead of reaching the afterlife, Stolas finds himself in a shadowy realm in front of a cloaked figure. The cloaked figure turns to him revealing the face of a skeleton who claims "My child still needs you". He awakens having been magically revivified by Novita.
The group manage to finish off the attackers and leave one alive to interrogate when he wakes.
