Session 25
General Summary
A Dangerous Dance
Silas quickly makes his way through the crowd and up the stairs and greets Shahina Sunstep. Silas hands off the note to Shahina. She opens and reads it quickly, thanks Silas and heads off to another area of the party. With their objective complete, the group continue to blend in by finding points within the dance. Silas reconvenes with Novita by the bar, Aelyse begins to dance with Vinya Colorump, a Loxodon lord. Yippity and Rupert dance with each other and Stolas invites Firlania Moonsong to dance, an unlikely pairing that turns a few ambassadors heads.
Yippity and Rupert put on quite a show for those dancing nearby, especially when the small Goblin manages to swan lift Rupert and spin him around. As they dance Yippity begins asking about the Verkazian lord, who sadly notices the impressive display and closes in on them both.
Close Call for the Poet
Kilian Varemund Wexler surrounds Yippity and Rupert with several Verkazian guards. Although none of them are armed, customary to party rules, Kilian draws a decorative blade and demands the guards seize the two of them. Yippity and Rupert are tackled to the ground and listen as Kilian reads off Ruperts crimes against Verkazia. The two manage to get a psychic communication from Firlania to "keep him talking" and the rest of The Nameless Ones close in on them. Rupert and Yippity manage to get Kilian talking long enough for The Nameless Ones, Firlania and Zoroan Kelsear to intervene.
Zoroan immediately puts Kilian in his place stating that Rupert is under Az'ean protection and the actions of Kilian are against the rules stated upon attendance of this celebration. Tensions rise for the moment but quickly the Sandstrike Wardens, the guards at this party, manage to make Kilian back off. He tells Rupert that this isn't over and storms out of the party.
The dance winds down and Stolas very quickly follows up a lead with Prinshaar Lorghulk. He manages to win information out of Prinshaar about the Dragon he claims to control. But quickly realises that there is a good chance there is no Dragon behind the boasts of this Dragonborn.
The Scribe Breaks his Silence
The Nameless Ones regroup at the bar and Rupert begins to open up about his past with Kilian. He divulges information that he is one of the founders and leaders of an organisation named The Silent Scribes. These scribes are poets and people of the arts who are working towards making the people of Verkazia aware of the cruel regime that the Verkazian Empire subjects them to. They aim to point out the class difference and blatant corruption that stems through the hierarchy of the Empire, hoping that the people will eventually rise up to this treatment and overthrow the nobles in charge. However, during his work with the scribes, Kilian discovered evidence of Ruperts involvement in treason and Rupert was forced to flee before the law caught up with him.
The group begin to open up a bit more with each other and Stolas quickly sneaks off to speak with Firlania. He bids her farewll and thanks her for her help and the dance. She states that he doesnt need to thank her as she is rather fond of them as a group and she point him towards a balcony where Hesenna Vespar watches him.
Talking with a Snake
Stolas makes his way up the the balcony to converse with Hesenna. The two talk in brief but discuss important things to do with Stolas' past. She reveals that Stolas' father Zaros Burakh never died defending the city but instead is alive and somewhere in the world. She states that house Hirziss is fond of the idea of a Burakh returning to their home, but not Zaros. She also breifly discusses Kaleb Silver, Stolas' mentor and wishes for Stolas to pass on a hello and request to meet up should he see him. Stolas doesn't reveal much to Hesenna about his life outside of Az'ea and parts shortly after.
He returns to The Nameless Ones and the group spend the rest of the evening getting drunk at the bar.
The Morning After
Each member of The Nameless Ones awakens in varying states of intoxication, eventually all reconvening their way to Zoroan's dining hall in the Dragonfang Keep. Zoroan states that they are pleased with their handing of the note and the group divulge the gossip they acquired. Zoroan seems satisfied with the information provided and issues their second favour. The Nameless Ones must reduce the presence of the Herzon's Shadow within the emerald entryways district.
