Session 20

General Summary

Deadly Downtime

After their return to The Custodians, the group quickly return to Zachariah Brook who handsomely pays them for a job well done in helping Felicity and Bobbin. The group are escorted to Mallory's workshop where Mallory also rewards them with a choice of magical relics. As she registers the conclusion of their business in her ledger, Mallory refers to the group on paper as The Nameless Ones, which seems to go over well with the group.

After a brief congrats, Mallory encourages the group to get some downtime and has a meeting with Aelyse. She tells Aelyse that she is assembling a crew that will sail into The Wound to recover a Tear of Ichor Lotus Flower. However, the captain who who Mallory would trust to see it through is currently away and wont be back for some time. She advises Aelyse to stay with the group and get stronger in her abilities, traversing The Wound will demand as much.

The newly named "Nameless ones" then go their own ways to enjoy some downtime.

The Dawnroot Sapling

While Stolas, Silas and Novita go shopping, and Rupert visits the BK Company to meet Mr Bobbin again and explores the factory. Aelyse and Yippity head to explore more of the city and find themselves inside a large garden, with a large tree in the middle. After some time investigating this tree, Aelyse realises it shared a connection with The Dawnroot. A local Fawn druid and carer for the tree named Zofe chats with Aelyse and Yippity about the tree, which is dubbed "The Dawnroot Sapling", a gift from Envenir to the city of Dravengarde. Zofe inquires about why a Druid from a Fonvelenor Circle and a Goblin of Gugdua are so far North of home.

After parting from Zofe, Aelyse explains what The Deadwood is like to Yippity and why it is so dangerous to the forest.

A Bizarre Butchering

After a few hours exploring the park, and some discussion between Yippity and Aelyse about the book of Gods he stole from Cresen, they discuss Veradictus the Luck Peddler, Yippity's patron. This god is the god of gambling who specialises in locking people into deals with the betrayer and they are tricked into play games on the god’s behalf, increasing his power. This god also has a bad history of dealings with other gods.
Mid conversation, Yippity's attention flicks elsewhere as he notices a sign on one of the tents in the nearby market that reads "Bizzle's Bizarre Bazaar". A Goblin is at the tent wearing a ostentatious purple top hat and selling strange goods.

Yippity approaches the merchant Bizzle, who upon recognising Yippity makes a break for it. Aelyse and Yippity chase Bizzle through the streets eventually capturing him with a giant owl summoned by Aelyse. Yippity interrogates Bizzle and finds out that Bizzle lost a precious item of Yippity's in a high stakes game in Az'ea to someone named Zoroan. Yippity gives Bizzle a chance to test his luck and attempts to kill him when his luck runs out. Aelyse steps in and begins to heal Bizzle and persuades Yippity that this isn't right. but before she can save Bizzle, his neck snaps, seemingly by the will of an unknown observer. Yippity flees the scene and Aelyse gets the guards to try save Bizzle.

Aelyse finds Stolas an company and the group track down Yippity who is in the park once more. Stolas convinces Yippity that he shouldn't feel too terrible for what happened as it doesn't seem to be his fault. He states that Yippity still has chances to make up for his errors, and has been doing so already in this group.

The group settle down in their private camp tents that they set up just outside the city.
