General Summary
Stolas's Former Studies
The group enter Cresen through the southern gate with the help of Annagathar Kaleste who states he is in Cresen on behalf of The Dawnroot archive for a meeting with the Abjuration guild. He walks with the group for a short while and then takes Novita to the side for a private word. He asks her more about the haft to which she gives very little away and then warns her not to trust "The Druid" referring to Aelyse. With some insight Novita gleans that he doesn't like druids and has had dealings with them in the past.
Felicity also says her goodbyes at this point as she has business she wishes to attend to within the city.
The Sights of Cresen
From their location the group get to witness the many sights of Cresen. This diverse city shows off magic all around with shops and houses each boasting their own unique magical quirks. The Nine towers of the Magic schools can be seen from anywhere in the city, as well as a tenth tower that appears to still be under construction. A garden leads throughout the centre of the city all the way around the bay that connects every tower to each other, as well as to the Arena of Irdana, the arena in which the Irdanian games take place every ten years.
As the group venture closer to the Necromancy guild through the gardens, they come across a withering tree. Aelyse begins to investigate the energy of this tree while Novita promptly licks it. During this Stolas bumps into an old peer, Akhan Makris, a blue Dragonborn who seems very displeased to see him. Akhan shouts abuse and minor threats towards Stolas, and Novita shouts back. Stolas can barely get a word in before Akhan storms off claiming to go find the authorities.
The group clearly realise that the Dragonborn was without a hand and make a quick connection that Claw may once have been Akhan's hand.
Stolas continues to lead the group to the Necromancy guild archives where he goes to study the Script Seal spell. Aelyse takes this time to research plant corruption and learns that necromancy often draws from other forms of life such as plants to attempt stronger feats of magic. Animals are strictly banned for this necromantic experimentation by the fields of Arn so plants are often a substitute. Yippity researches the voice in his head but doesn't find much of note. Mostly he finds information on Gods such as Carrimis and Itseri, being heavily associated with Necromancy.
Detention
After about an hour of study, flaming skulls that watch the archive begin to stalk the group. Most of the group (barring Yippity who hides in the bookshelves) try to leave and are caught by the school watch. A teacher named Girremar Crovold appears to be with Akhan and explains to the group that Stolas is unwelcome after the stunts he pulled when he was last in Cresen. Girremar seems excited about the prospect of getting Stolas in trouble and the group are promptly escorted to the office of Headmaster Izaron Vekrypt.
They meet Izaron, an old white Dragonborn who seems disappointed at the fact Stolas has returned before his forced absence was up and doesn't seem pleased that he now has to deal with the drama between Girremar and the students. Novita is interrogated alongside Stolas as she is seen by the Necromancers as an illegal experiment. She tells them she was created by a scientist from Ravenshore named Wilson and they state that they will be investigating further. As things quickly spiral away from Stolas's favour, he is saved by the arrival of Henaharath Siris, another one of his former peers. Henaharath states to Izaron that Stolas is in the city by his request, and that he apologises for not going through the proper channels of notifying Izaron. Although sceptical, Izaron lets the group go, stating that they must conclude their business and be escorted by Henaharath to the tower of time to leave. Girremar seems greatly displeased by this outcome and storms off.
A Talk Before Time
As the group walks to the tower of time, picking up Yippity on the way, Henaharath discusses necromancy with Stolas and also informs him that Kaleb Silver was looking for him not too long ago. The group pass through a market where they see a statue of the famed Mythmaker Brigida Stonegut. Yippity enquires in the market about a travelling merchant and Aelyse does some shopping.
The party enters the Tower of Time which is the tower that was under construction. They meet up with Aroa Kinfall, soon to be head of the Chronomancy school who chats academics with Stolas. After a short while they reach a transportation circle room and they are transported back to Dravengarde. They are met by the familiar face of Kuzem Unnibo who escorts them back to the custodian main lobby.
