Session 17
General Summary
The Hobgoblin
The group arrive in Pellhallow and Felicity informs them that they are searching for Mr Bobbin the Hobgoblin. She believes he is at the local tavern and there they will hopefully be able to convince him to finish up his business and head back to Dravengarde. They eventually make their way to the Pell's Bell Tavern where Stolas asks Felicity what they are walking into, she tells him that she is uncertain, hoping that the people Bobbin is here to meet are friendly.
As they enter the tavern Felicity recognises Bobbin and introduces the group to the well dressed grey skinned Hobgoblin that is Bobbin. He greets the group in an eccentric manner and Felicity hands him his bucket. The group enquire with Bobbin as to whom he is meeting and he simply states that he is meeting a contact who has some parts for a project Bobbin and Mallory are collaborating on. He states that his contact is a green Dragonborn named Gustavo Utup.
Gustavo's Predicament
After some time, Gustavo Utup enters the tavern with two Orcish guards in tow. He greets Bobbin as a friend and intensely eyes the rest of the group. With some distraction provided by the group, Gustavo warns Bobbin that the men who are with him are cultist guards who have forcefully involved him into trying to kidnap Bobbin. Upstairs with the merchandise are cultists waiting to ambush him.
Wait... What's the Plan?
Bobbin takes Gustavo's information and tells the group to be ready for the signal. He places a jar on the table that seems to contain a frog and makes his way willingly upstairs with the cultists. As Yippity causes a stool to set on fire the jar explodes and a huge frog named Comrade grows out of it and attacks the orcs. Upstairs, Bobbin resists magical charms of the cultists and dons his bucket as a fight erupts in the tavern.
This fight is chaos and sees much of the tavern destroyed or damaged, mostly by Bobbin's hands/firearms.
During this combat Stolas manages to prevent a few cultists from escaping and recovers an item that he believes to be a teleportation rune, to where he is unsure.
The last cultist to fall states "just as beautiful as the master said" and dies, ending the fight in the flaming tavern.
