Grumb is a silver Dragonborn who grew up among the dwarves of Banog Duun, he lived there for 46 years of his life and in his time became a renowned smith.
However, he was eventually forced to leave Banog Duun when he refused to take arms in the Underwar.
Moving to Karstol he took his earnings and set up his own business, now providing his services to adventurers.
His forced exile has left him bitter and cold in his old age.

Although Grumb never met the Nameless Ones, he likely had interactions with Rupert Penspoon Kensington while he was in hiding in Karstol.
