Demonling

Demons and mortals have lived together in Ravnica for more than ten thousand years. They were bound to figure some things out.

Demonborn

A demonling is born through one of two ways: when a demonling has a child, or when a non-demonling mortal who has encounterd hellish magic—willingly or otherwise—has a child. Regardless of how they came to be, demonlings are mortals and retain free will and agency. Demonlings look like demonic versions of their birth parents, with some combination of horns, fangs, claws, leathery skin, cloven hooves, or pointed tails.

Demonic Form

Age. Tieflings mature at the same rate as their birth parents, but can live as few as 50 years to as many as 500.
Size. Tieflings have the same height and weight range as their birth parents. Your size is your choice of Small or Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is determined by your size: 25 feet for Small creatures, 30 for Medium creatures.
Mortal Heritage. You may choose one trait from any of your birth ancestries OR you may choose to have darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. You can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Hellish Resistance. Your Infernal heritage grants you resistance against fire damage.
Legacy of Brimstone. Demons are varied, so too are their progeny. Choose one of the following traits:
  • Infernal Legacy. You know the thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the hellish rebuke spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
  • Legacy of Rakdos. You know the vicious mockery cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the charm person spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the enthrall spell once with this trait. You must finish a long rest to cast these spells once again with this trait. Charisma is your spellcasting modifier for them.
  • Winged. Batlike wings jut from your shoulder blades. You have a flying speed of 30 feet. When you are wearing heavy armor, or any armor you are not proficient in, your flying speed is halved.
