Vulper Arloo Gornetraof

Vulper Arloo Gornetraof stands as one of the Elite Warriors of Clan Vulfax. Despite being a strong leader and loyal follower, unlike many of his contemporaries, Vulper is NOT of the Selenians. Most within the clan are uncertain of his race or his true potential, as he does not demonstrate traits of any known creature or beast- in fact most of the clan is unfamiliar with his origin as he has stood with Calagras Verte (the clan head) since the very beginning of Vulfax. He is regarded as a wise and compassionate leader, one of the few to lead with words who will act with violence as a final resort if proven necessary.

Appearance

Vulper is a tall man at over 6 feet. Described as very muscular, yet compact, functionally like a living tank with a body that can dish and take the blows he often has to contend with. Darker pigment and features, well toned. Blackened claw-like nails.
He usually keeps his hair tied back into a pony though will at times leave it loose flowing free. His reasoning for such is that he likes feeling the wind flow through it from time to time. Crow black hair, usually messy.
His eyes are a dark shade of greenish-blue.
Generally Vulper will wear a similar style of outfit- that being his boots and a pair of jeans (sometimes torn) with either shoulder armor or some sort of jacket that he can slip off in the heat of battle. Vulper typically does not wear a shirt, stating it is something that can slow a warrior down if not put them in danger in the midst of combat (despite this his hair he keeps long). Some find his reasoning hypocritical and believe there to be another reason why he wears only unzipped jackets or pauldrons.

Personality

In contrast to many of his peers, Vulper is a rather reserved individual. He is described as a silent crow, hanging back and observing, often as a shadow. He acts highly analytical of most situations, be them in observations of said peers or the surrounding environment, unknown people who could be potential foes, and so forth. He is not loud, he is not dramatic, he is far from flamboyant.
Despite being seemingly introverted, he has no problem in using his voice when deeming it appropriate. When instructing, when confronting, when assigning commands, when plotting. He prefers to take a softer approach to his subordinates and opts to keep neutral ground with those he sees as his peers.

Abilities

As an elite of Vulfax, he is highly athletic & acrobatic. Able to jump high and climb quickly, able to throw a hefty punch and take the same back- from wrestling bears to scaling a rock wall to backflipping off the side of a mountain and digging himself into the side, he is considerably capable.

History

His origins pre-Vulfax are unknown; though given his time with the clan since its founding, he is at minimum a couple hundred years old. And in the time that he has been with Vulfax he has been a trusted lieutenant of Calagras Verte, serving as both a warrior and a commander, a recruiter, an instructor, a listener, and a strategist. He has taken it upon himself to oversee many of the newest members of the clan, checking in on their training where no other elite does. He has been in many a battle over the years just the same for his people.

Character Facts

He was Artist Sonmie's favorite character from the pilot novel, and one of her favorite designs.

Pilot Canon

Vulper was originally one of the only supporters of Elise within the clan, as in the pilot lore she was heavily beaten down and often dismissed by their respective peers. He encouraged her often to do her best and to try and follow her own merits. He was also one of the only ones who stood by her when all else dismissed her at the very end, and later used his own voice to influence the clan to back her in the final act against Azala.
In Embers of the Future it was revealed that Vulper was a 100% Drachen (precursor to Drachon) who had had his full power sealed by Azala prior to joining the clan in the 1600s (Earth Years). Following the death of Azala, the seal was broken and Vulper became able to use his full power once more. This was seen with his hybrid transformation into a humanoid with Dragon-like features including scales, wings, claws, and more.
