The Anarchs

Anarch: A rebel among the Kindred, one with no respect for the elders. Most fledglings are automatically assumed to be Anarchs by the Elders, and are despised as products of the 20th century.   Anarchs are vampires who reject the status quo of Cainite society. The resulting organization of Anarchs is called the Anarch Movement, whose traditional strongholds are Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco.   The Anarchs especially resent the privileged status held by elders within the Camarilla and other vampire sects; when the eldest hold the most power in a society of immortals, the lot of Neonates is not a happy one. As such, they are naturally targeted for recruitment by the Sabbat.   Most of the Anarchs respect and uphold the Masquerade and some of the other Traditions, even if they do not respect the vampires who enforce them or the system that benefits from them. Anarchs (like all vampires), are considered a faction of the Camarilla by its members, but unlike the Sabbat they are tolerated, as per the terms of the Convention of Thorns.   In Ravenhurst, the local Anarchs are led by the Brujah known as Agony. Her policy has been one of using Prestation to subvert the Camarilla political machine. This makes sense because none of them are great fighters. Agony and her crew have been in secret talks with Ivory Crane of Clan Venture about making some sort of under the table alliance. Cordelia Delacroix is another Brujah in the Ravenhurst Anarchs. However, she plans on supplanting Agony as their leader at some point. The Anarchs have a major weakness, however. One of their members, Asa of Clan Gangrel, owes Nathaniel Montgomery a Major Boon for helping him clean up a nasty breach of the Masquerade he had made. Both parties in this cover up keep this a secret from the rest of the Kindred. It's only a matter of time before Nathaniel either calls the marker in or trades it away to some other Elder such as Sarah Anne Wolff or even the Prince.

Structure

Agony is the only real leader of this small crew of Kindred subversives, being sort of a first among equals. Other than that, they aren't hierarchical. Cordelia Delacroix is about as close to a second in command they have.   Other members include:   Cordelia Delacroix   Lucien Roth   Asa   Pixie   Ivory Crane of Clan Venture is an ally of the Anarchs but isn't an actual member. As such, neither side of the alliance tells the other absolutely everything they know. In addition, Cordelia is not happy with the idea of being in league with Ivory.

History

The Anarchs' historical origins lie in the Anarch Revolt that birthed the Sabbat, but in recent nights they are mostly an unorganized rabble of younger vampires and Caitiff. "Anarch" was originally a name imposed upon them by Camarilla elders, since they sought to overthrow the leadership structures of Cainite society, but while many Anarchs are indeed anarchists, the more traditional desire has been the bringing equality and democracy (or at least meritocracy) to Kindred society.   In modern nights, the Anarchs that have been sidelined to the fringes of Kindred society have gathered together under the banner of the "Anarch Movement". This organized movement made their single largest coup against the tyranny of the elders and the sects during the Second Anarch Revolt. During this revolution, the Anarchs liberated Los Angeles in 1944; within a year, they established an Anarch Free State across southern and central California, overthrowing the Princes of the liberated cities and establishing in their places the Anarch Barons - which were given a much more tolerant degree of authority over their fellow Anarchs.   As for the Ravenhust branch of the Anarch Movement, it didn't really take off until May 1st of 1965. Agony and Cordelia had long been Anarchs but the 1960s was when they first started getting serious about it and laying the groundwork. It was in later years after that when they started actively recruiting other Kindred.
