It was during a time when the impoverished were looked down upon by society. The circumstances that kept the Blalock family poor were no fault of their own but were treated badly anyway. Magadalene was often taunted with the nickname “Agony” by more fortunate children and their parents. By the time she was 8, she already had a deep and abiding hatred of the society in which she lived. She fantasized about the rich and powerful being brought low on a constant basis. She also learned to hate the Church and their Protestant Work Ethic, which only heaped more scorn and propaganda. She never stopped believing in God. Instead, she learned to hate him. By the time she was in her teens, her siblings were all dead from lack of food and basic necessities while her mother was on her way to the grave and her father was headed to the poorhouse. At 15, she fell into the clutches of a vile pimp named Mr. Osgood who fed her but abused her in all sorts of ways while selling her to awful men on a constant basis. During this time, one of the men who paid to use her was Dr. Desmond Gore. She found him repulsive and her contempt for him into the present day. All told, it was an existence that could only end in an early grave.   One night, Benjamin Thorne spied her looking out a second-floor window on a rainy and the death glare on her face prompted him to read her mind with his Auspex. He found somebody who deserved to rebel against circumstances. He watched her from the shadows for a month before stepping foot into the whorehouse and requested her. He paid the fee and went to her room. He told Agony what he was and demonstrated his powers to prove it. Before she could scream, he clapped his hand over her mouth asked her if she would like to become undead or if she would prefer to stay as an ill-treated prostitute. She thought for a minute and nodded yes to him. He took his hand from her mouth and handed her a dagger. Benjamin told her that if she wanted to become Kindred, she had to stab her pimp to death. She readily agreed. Thorne called for Mr. Osgood to come up to Agony’s room and she set upon him. Benjamin smiled as she stabbed the pimp over and over even after he was dead. By the time her fury was spent, she had mutilated Osgood’s corpse to the point that an open casket funeral was out of the question. Thorne and Agony left the brothel soon after. Benjamin also used his influence to stonewall the investigation of Osgood’s death into oblivion.   For years, things were fine. Thorne taught Agony how to read and write and exposed her to all sorts of classical literature. She developed an affinity for political and historical works. He also taught her all about Carthage and how the Ventrue Clan had ruined the dream of that ancient city. She was loyal to the Camarilla for many years. Eventually, he reading led her to Marx and Engels and her viewpoint slowly shifted.   While never becoming a Marxist, Agony did become enamored of the idea of revolution. She managed to obtain the writings of a number of other Anarch Kindred and secretly went Anarch after pondering over them. Her animosity toward Thorne’s other Childe Fabian Santi grew because he had become an enforcer for Prince Lothaire. And she also grew to view Benjamin as hopelessly naive and out of touch. She recruited fellow Brujah Cordelia Delacroix to her side and on May 1st, 1965 they both openly declared what other Kindred had gossiped about...that they were indeed Anarchs.   And Agony now has a crew of other Kindred subversives at her side. She plays a dangerous game as she works to ruin the Ravenhurst Camarilla by using their own Prestation games against them. She has a long list of enemies. Nathaniel Montgomery for being the sort of person who used to spit on her for being poor when she was a girl. Sarah Anne Wolff for her open hostility towards the Anarch cause. Reverend Church for being a religious fanatic. But especially for Prince Lothaire and the other Toreador elitists who do the most to prop up the system that oppresses the young Kindred. But she has chinks in her armor: Asa and Cordelia, the latter being compromised by Nathaniel Montgomery and the former looking to supplant Agony as the Anarch leader.   Image: Agony has long straight blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes. She is of medium height and has an athletic figure. Her choice of fashion makes her stand out from the other Anarchs in that she’d rather wear short red leather dress and high heels than ripped jeans and work boots. She looks more like a fashion model than a revolutionary.   Roleplaying Hints: You’re almost completely fearless and don’t take crap from anyone. You’re ready to tell off anyone, even the Prince. You know that you’re no angel but the Elders and their flunkies are far worse. As a result, you don’t care much for what they think of you. Narrow your eyes at the Camarilla establishment and call them out on all their flaws.
