Khenra
The khenra are tall and lean, with graceful bodies and heads that strongly resemble jackals. Their snouts are long and sharp, and their angular ears rise straight above their heads. Their bodies are covered in dark, sleek hair that ranges from the brown of the desert sands to ebony black. Despite their sharp teeth, they consider biting to be an uncouth and unworthy combat tactic. Nearly every khenra is born a fraternal or identical twin, and a pair of khenra twins forms an extremely close emotional bond unknown to most others. The death of one twin causes a tremendous shock to the survivor, who typically grows more aggressive and foolhardy in battle. The rare khenra who are born without twins are believed to have killed their siblings in the womb, and are thus viewed as natural-born initiates, sure to achieve a glorified death.

Basic Information
Anatomy
Khenra resemble humanoid jackals with tall pointed ears. They are typically really tall and sleek, but this varies from khenra to khenra. They have short black fur. They have a height range from 5' to 8' tall. They can weigh between 80 and 200 lbs.
Genetics and Reproduction
Khenra are genetically compatible with most Anikin subset. Culturally they often don't crossbreed. Male Khenra will typically never crossbreed. Whereas female khenra will, but only to further the bloodline. This usually results in half-blood khenra growing up without fathers as the mothers will abandon the mate. Of course there are always exceptions.
Growth Rate & Stages
Khenra mature at a faster rate then humans. Reaching maturity as early as 13 and very rarely living past 60. The oldest documented Khenra usually fall into the "Elder" role within their communities and have been known to live as old as 75.
Ecology and Habitats
Khenra are typically found in hotter climate areas, such as: desserts, Savannahs, volcanos, tropical islands, etc. The khenra do not do well in harsh cold areas. The are known to set up encampments and small kingdoms. Usually they do not allow in outsiders.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Typically khenra names lean towards real world middle eastern like names.
Gender Ideals
Men and women are not seen as equals in khenra society. Men are often taken and brutalized for their strengths. Molding them into vicious warriors. Women are often seen as treasures and treated as such. Khenra women will often fall into a pampered life or into the life of a scholar. In khenra society the women are the leaders, the scholars, doctors and scientists. Occasionally women seek out the warriors path. In doing so they are treated just as harshly as a man.
Courtship Ideals
Khenra men are not permitted to date or to pursue women. Female khenra pick and chose their partners. Failed relationships are a faux-pa attributed onto male khenra. Should a relationship fail it isn't uncommon for a male khenra to end ones own life or excommunicate themselves from their clan.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Common, Anikin
Khenra is still spoken within "Pure Clans" but isn't as common as it once was.
Common Myths and Legends
The khenra are not known for their mages. But when a set of twins is born with magical aptitude that path is nurtured to the fullest extent of the clan. Seeing the Sorcerer Twins as a omen of strength and potential new "Elders"
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Khenra don't play well with others, and are quick to jump to conflict. Due to their desert dwelling nature there is an unspoken hatred and rivalry between the khenra and gnolls.
