The Ebon Cipher
Type: Astral Sailor
Design description: Sleek, curved hulls and massive solar sails reminiscent of Treasure Planet ships, but fused with infernal design—brass struts, hellforged anchor-claws, and glowing sigils woven into the rigging. The ship hovers above the Astral Sea like a black stingray with sails of translucent crystal that ripple like stained glass. Faint frost clings to the outer hull due to the infernal magic saturating its captain.
Ship Features:
- Planar Engine Core: Powered by a bound soul-forge crystal harvested from the lower planes.
- Deck Weapons: Arcane bolt batteries, soul-harpoon launchers, and a chained “gravity lance” that can pierce planar shields.
- Internal Network: Echo-chambers along the hull transmit whispers across the ship—used for silent orders.
- Infernal Wake: Leaves behind a spectral frost trail, crackling with whispers from damned sailors lost to the sea between worlds.
Captain: Admiral Tyrakhel "The Icebrand"
- Race: Ice Devil Teifling
- Origin: Former admiral of the Strigan Navy, a close confidant of Calico during his uprising but exiled after he was caught by calico with his daughter, Valintine. He was stripped of rank and title, but escaped execution by fleeing to the Astral Sea.
- Appearance: Tall and monstrous, Tyrakhel is a icey blue teifling with glacial armor plating, curling ice-covered horns, and a voice that echoes like wind across a frozen lake. His breath turns the air into snow as he speaks.
- Personality: Cold, strategic, and ruthless—but intensely loyal to those who earn it. Sees Valintine as the one force in the multiverse capable of thawing his heart.
- Reputation: Known among pirate circles as a captain who commands and demands unquestioning loyalty, and is not afraid to sacrifice a few pawns for his objective. In exchange, his crew have a captain that few others can match in tactical and strategic thinking.
