Thaladir Moonshadow- Carrion Hunter

Physical Description:

Thaladir Moonshadow possesses the lithe and agile physique typical of his Fenlir Tabaxi heritage. His fur is a deep, shadowy black, marked with subtle patterns resembling the phases of the moon, which earned him his surname. His eyes, however, are a piercing amber, betraying the wisdom and experience gained over centuries of existence. Despite his age, he retains the appearance of youth, with a face that bears few lines of age but carries an air of ancient knowledge. He moves with a grace and fluidity that speaks of his mastery over his own body and the wilderness he calls home.  

Personality:

Thaladir is a solitary figure, preferring the company of the wilds to that of civilization. He is introspective and introspective, with a quiet demeanor that belies the fierce determination burning within him. Years of solitary hunts and close brushes with death have instilled in him a deep sense of self-reliance and independence. He is stoic and reserved, speaking only when necessary, but his words carry the weight of experience and wisdom beyond his years. Despite his isolation, Thaladir possesses a fierce loyalty to those few he deems worthy of his trust, willing to risk everything to protect them.  

Motivation:

Thaladir's sole purpose in life is the pursuit of greater challenges and the accumulation of power through the ritual of the Carrion hunter. He seeks out the most formidable foes, driven by an insatiable hunger to prove himself and transcend his mortal limitations. Each kill he takes fuels his undead nature, granting him greater strength and mastery over the forces of undeath. He cares little for material wealth or worldly pursuits, finding fulfillment only in the thrill of the hunt and the conquest of ever greater adversaries.  

Tactics in Battle:

In battle, Thaladir is a cunning and strategic adversary, utilizing his knowledge of the wilderness and his supernatural abilities to gain the upper hand. He prefers to strike from the shadows, using his stealth and agility to outmaneuver his foes and deliver precise, deadly strikes. Thaladir is a master of hit-and-run tactics, darting in and out of combat to harry his enemies before vanishing once more into the darkness. He relies on his keen senses and intimate knowledge of his surroundings to anticipate his opponent's moves and exploit their weaknesses. When pressed into close quarters combat, Thaladir wields his weapons with deadly efficiency, striking with the speed and precision of a seasoned warrior.

Unique Equipment/Magic Items:

  • Moonshadow Cloak: While wearing this cloak, Thaladir can cast Pass without Trace at will, without expending a spell slot or requiring concentration.
  • Shadowblade: A magically enhanced longsword that deals an additional 2d8 necrotic damage on hit. Thaladir is proficient with this weapon.
  • Corson's Bow: a Mgaic bow once own by his father, grants additional 2d6 cold damage on weapon hits, and a +3 to hit. Additionally, allows the weilder advantage on any Wisdom checks.

Abilities:

  • Darkvision: Thaladir can see in dim light within 120 feet of him as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. He can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
  • Feline Agility: Thaladir can double his speed until the end of his turn. Once he uses this feature, he can't use it again until he moves 0 feet on one of his turns.
  • Stalker's Flurry: Once on each of his turns when Thaladir misses a creature with a weapon attack, he can make another weapon attack as a bonus action.
  • Primeval Awareness: Thaladir can use his action and expend a spell slot to focus his awareness on the region around him. He knows the location of any aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, and undead within 1 mile of him (or within up to 6 miles if he is in his favored terrain). This ability doesn't reveal the creatures' numbers or their exact locations.
  • Giant's Rampage (Recharge 5-6): Thaladir channels the fury of the giants he has slain, gaining advantage on all attack rolls and dealing an additional 2d6 damage with all melee attacks for 1 round.
  • Mutual Relations: As a Bonus Action, can end one spell, condition, or harmful effect on Tabby. Tabby in turn can do the same for Thaladir.

Actions:

  • Multiattack: Thaladir makes three attacks: either with his shadowblade or his claws.
  • Shadowblade (Longsword): Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8 + 5 slashing damage plus 2d8 necrotic damage.
  • Claws: Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8 + 5 slashing damage.
  • Retaliation: When someone makes an attack aginst his mount Tabby, Thaladir can immidiatly make an attack against that Person. Tabby can use this same ability.

Spells

  At Will:
  • Shadow Strike: Thaladir channels his shadowy powers into a melee attack, causing his weapon to crackle with dark energy. Make a melee weapon attack against a creature within range. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 necrotic damage.
  • Shadow Step: Thaladir momentarily melds with the shadows, allowing him to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space he can see that is also in dim light or darkness.
2 Times Per Day:
  • Shadow of Moil: Thaladir wreathes himself in shadows, becoming heavily obscured to others. In addition, any creature that hits him with a melee attack while he is in this darkness takes 2d8 necrotic damage.
  • Grasping Vine: summons vines from the gorund, lashing out at any creature within 30ft that can be seen. Target must make a Dex sav, Dc 20 or be pulled 20ft towards the caster. Can be directed to attack on subesquent turns as a Bonus Action.
Once Per Day Signature Spell:
  • Umbral Cataclysm: Thaladir unleashes a wave of dark energy that snuffs out the life force of creatures in its path. Each creature in a 60-foot cone must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 7d8 + 30 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If a humanoid dies from this spell's damage, it rises at the start of Thaladir's next turn as a zombie that is permanently under his command, following his verbal orders to the best of its ability.

Legendary Second Stage:

  If Tabby is killed, Thaladir gains the following benifits;
  • Regain up to half health.
  • Regain any uses of Giants Rampage
  • He will Crit on 18,19, and 20.
