Rassoron High Elves

Description and location-   The high elves live in the city of Avinmount, an older dwarven city that has been expanded for elvish needs. They are a broken people, who suffered a catastrophic event that decimated their capital city, destroying their seat of power intellectuals and prominent political leaders. As a people, they are yet to recover from such devastation, and are struggling with their own conviction to endure just as much as they are physically struggling to rebuild.      Gods-   The elves follow    Political beliefs and Social Class-   The elves had most of their society was broken in the destruction of Ronanoak and the subsequent rebellions of the human subjects. The only way that they have survived is by tying themselves to the dwarves and to the Madgarians. The dwarves they have accepted, but utterly resent living under the rule of humans.    Reputation-   The elves are a bit mysterious to some of the shorter lived races further south, taking on a bit of mythos to them. To those of the north, they are seen as a once powerful people laid back to dust.    Relationship with other local ethnicities-   They do not mind the dwarves, and are reluctantly appreciative for them taking them in and allowing them to rebuild in their city, though you would never hear an elf admit it outright.    They however heavily resent the Madgarian humans who hold dominion over the dwarvish city, and therefore over them. To call an elf Madgarian is considered by them to be a grave insult, and they detest anything that requires to follow the word of a human, or worse, a madgarian orc. As a result, the elves wait and long for the day when they are able to begin their empire again and throw off the yolk of their human "oppressors".    History-   The elves had a powerful and long reigning empire on this continent, their only rivals being the dark elves of the south. The elves then pressed their power too far, experimenting with magic and the natural capabilities, seeing if they could be captured and held in a quantifiable way, attempting to make magical energy reserves to full powerful new weapons that could potentially help them conqueror the world. Their expiriments went horribly wrong however, the resulting explosion destroying their capital city, intilectuals, and the majority of their army. Their territories soon fell to infighting, and then to rebellion as their human subjects revolted massacring the already beaten elves.    The survivors either traveled to other continents, or retreated north into obscurity where they eventually settled with the dwarves of Avinmount.   Other Notes-
