Arnet-capital

City History, Culture, Trade and Description   Arnet is a overgrown fishing village, with walls made from a mixture of wood and stone encompassing the harbor and inner city, with a large village which has outgrown the original city defenses. It is a supply port, where trading merchants stop for fresh provisions before heading across the storm white sea. It is a very relaxed city, where things get done in their own time (much to the frustration of those who have business to do).   The city serves as the capital for the nation state of Arnet   Important Characters   King Thorntone- Leader of the city and nation state of Arnet, he has a narrow face, with thick copper hair and light brown eyes. He dresses in very nice, but modest and practical clothing, and has rough hands from his days of working on board ships. Often fiddles with a copper ring on his finger when stressed or considering something carefully. He is a leader of the land, wanting to consider the needs and wants of his subjects, but also being forced to contend with the nations future and the increasing pressures to make allies on the mainland or face powerful enemies alone. He can often be found working on the dock in his free time, enjoying time spent among his subjects and not wanting to lose sight of his people.    Captain Tholip- Tholip is an older sea captain who is in control of all Arnet defenses, as well as leading any Arnet militia armies when formed. He has cropped silver hair and soft hazel eyes. He wears an old blue uniform, worn but well cared for, and carries a long knife by his side. Tholip is thoughtful in consul, but impulsive on the battle field.   Ambassador Edawish- A human mage serving as an advisor for king Thornton, and an ambassador from the Mages of Cintras. He dresses in ornate flowing clothing in court, but more often dresses in simple clothes when not in official duties. He is a young mage, new to the position and inexperienced, rather unsure of himself. He also is very interested in local culture, and has an interest in learning about these simply yet happy people. Very genuine in his words and actions, which he admits is why he has been sent out here, as he is not well versed in political saviness required for the more important kingdoms, but here his honestly earns him respect.   Iffis- faith leader of the city, works as a light house keeper at Mishikal Point. He is a tall man with a bald head and large white beard. He is often found in simple fisherman's clothes and a blue cap, but on worship days he dresses in long white robes with a blue sash around the waist. He organizes worship once a week at the base of the lighthouse for those who follow the local teachings. He also heals and takes care of those in need, and any seeking refuge can find help in his care.   Book Keeper Anna- wife of King Thronton, she also serves as his book keeper and in charge of the nations finances. She is exceptionally beautiful, with auburn hair and brown eyes. She matches her husband, wearing well-made but practical clothing and has several pouches hang from her belt.   Local Quests   A ship called the Handmaiden was due in port several days ago. Fearing that she had run aground, or worse, attacked by orc raiders, A search ship is being sent out, and volunteers are being asked for to help crew her.   Factions   Business vs Fisherman- there are several wealthy individuals trying to reinvent the island into a new trading capital, but are facing fierce resistance from the fishermen and other locals who like the city just as it is.
