Thalassa

Thalassa is one of the Aborigines, the Old Gods of Rakuen, and formerly known as The Sea. They are siblings with Arborea, and dance with Selene to keep Rakuen safe. Thalassa is subdued among the Old Gods, having lost their fight with Rhea and Iapetus during the War in Heaven. But with strategic ascension, they have managed to not lose their power as an individual god, and have since grown back to a state of stability, however fragile it might be.   Brother of Selene, Thalassa dances with her, and frequently rivals Hyperion, who he becomes angry with jealousy and spite. For any bickering amongst the Old Gods, it is most frequently between Hyperion and Thalassa, with Thalassa picking fights, and Selene intervening as an intermediary to cease tensions.   Thalassa is seen as tempestuous and dangerous, and is frequently one of the least popular gods among the world. Tieflings and Tabaxi worship him, as they do with all the Old Gods. The few Tritons and Sea Elves that live upon Rakuen also worship, but more out of fear than love. They are most commonly prayed to by sailors and pirates, who respect Thalassa as a being of both beauty and terror; a sailor or pirate who is not seen with some adherence to Thalassa is seen as one that is likely to have bad luck.

Holidays

Day of Rakuen: A day, usually in the late spring and early summer, that honors the planet Rakuen for all of its splendor. It is a day where people are encouraged to leave the house and enjoy nature. Activities tend to be hosted near bodies of water, such as rivers or the ocean, and usually feature fruits and vegetable snacks to consume. Berry-picking, fishing, and foraging are also common activities. Although this day is ostensibly secular, it is also one that religious adherents dedicate to the old gods, the Aborigines, those who held this realm long before any life came to Rakuen.
