Derbent
History
Traditionally seafarers of the Sea of Beryl, Derbenti arose from a wealth of trading and success. Only recently when the Holy Empire last waged war against the Ruby Kingdoms have things dramatically changed. With only open plains separating Derbent from the rest of the the Empire, an attack from the west was easy. Through a great investment, the kingdoms constructed the Caspian Gates, a massive feat of engineering to keep back the hordes of the Empire.
Derbent now remains a protective, lush trading space of the country, but also a military hot-spot, protecting The Gate and guarding against a potential invasion.
