Personal history
Orphanned, grew up on the streets, got drafted into the Bastion's military, The Vigil, where he was picked back up by his mentor. The retired, eccentric general by the name of Douglas Leadlung took him in and honed the potential he saw in the young lad. Instilling in him the foundations of leadership, what makes a unit, among other qualities.
He was doing some odd jobs for his mentor originally, a big job came in where his mentor left with him to go take it on, they got separated and he circled back for the next few weeks and never found him. Asked back at the nearest city about any clues or if anyone had seen him, he'd been seen leaving the city. A group of adventurers - Otto, Viate, and Zaghed - were heading the same way and he didn't wanna go alone. Got dragged into some circumstances and they kinda grew on him.
In this time, he got involved with his new friends' quest to secure the Pyres, magical ritual sites from eras gone by. These magical ritual sites held the danger of being activated, as many foul people sought to leverage the great power they held. Brydan and his companions eventually found and secured all the Pyres to the east of Bastion. Eventually, his travels led him back to his home in Bastion, where he had the fortune - or perhaps misfortune - of meeting Garroth Hellsturn, Korva Thorne, and Alia Mirana, a group who also had encounters with a different set of pyres. And so a new adventure began...
