Personal history
Ashna Osha Bradav is a traveler from the west. The second youngest in a family of seven, she was always the most frail. Her father saw little need of her, as she would not be strong enough to toil and earn money for the family. Her mother, desperate for medical aid, brought her to the local monastery. It was said that Ashna was not likely to live past 4, as it was believed she had a weak heart.
On the day she began to cough up blood, her family rushed her to the local temple. The monks sighed, preparing her final rites to pass her on. And so her breathing stopped, and so the light of her eyes faded. And so shone down the moon through the monastery window, right upon her body in the altar.
And so she began to breathe again.
Ashna lived a strange life which she always insisted was not so special. But being known as the Girl Who Returned was certainly a burden while trying to grow up. All she showed for her miracle was a strange symbol adorning her chest, just above her heart; a sign the gods had chosen her.
It was that same sentiment that drew the ire of her father. Another mouth to feed, another useless set of hands. And with all the commotions, it drew the attention of the military upon their family. He insisted she be sold off in a market to the north so that the nuisance she caused would be done away with.
It was here that her companions found her. Realizing that she had been blessed by the gods, they quickly purchased her, ferreting her away from slavery. With her permission, she agreed to join their quest in following her fate as a Master of the Shrine.
