Jakharo stays in Little Waterfall for five years.

Erik Thompson agrees to shelter Jakharo until he's fully recovered from his wounds, and he ends up staying with the human for five years. During his time in Little Waterfall, Jakharo calls himself Jake and learns to live among humans while he teaches Erik about wolves. They become close friends, and even something else... Until Jakharo finally decides to leave and go back to the wild.
