Moonlights (pack)
The Moonlights are the oldest and more populated pack that inhabits the Valley nowadays. Their settlement, the Enclave, is placed in the top of a plateau over the prairies to the North-West.
They have a strict hierarchy and rules, being the most important of them that males aren't the same as females. While females have the Power of Life, males have the Power of Strength and due to that they are to protect the females and hunt for them so they can have and raise healthy children, for the Mother Goddess ordered it when She created the world and its creatures. Females are considered adults when they have their first blood moon and since then they have the right to give orders to any male and ask them to warm up their bed. The males, convinced of the importance of the balance between the Power of Strength and the Power of Life, accept their position; if they are good enough in this life, they may be reborn as a female.
The Matriarch, the Mother of All, is from the bloodline of the First Daughter of the Goddess, and has the Power of Light: the memories of all the Matriarchs before her and the ability to travel out of her body as a spirit and witness events very far away. All the females from her bloodline share the spiritual power the Moon Goddess gave to Her First Daughter, but only the Matriarch, who has been through a training and a ceremony, reaches the ancient memories. Uncontrolled, the Power of Light might harm and eventually kill a non-trained Light. Her spirit might be taken away by the spiritual streams and never come back.
Moonlights have caused many wars for territory in the past and probably will in the future, and the males will fight, kill and die for their Mother.
Structure
The supreme leader of the pack is the Mother of All, the First One Among the Goddess Daughters, the Matriarch, who looses her birth name after becoming the Mother and rules above every male and female in the pack. It is believed that her bloodline must be kept in power for they have the Power of Light without which the pack wouldn't survive.
Her heir is always the youngest female in her bloodline. Not necessarily her daughter, but the youngest one of her female descendants. She is called the Light of the pack.
Under Mother and Light, there are the Circle of Favourites among the Goddess Daughters. It's an female only elite group who assists the Mother. Usually former Lights who aren't the youngest one anymore belong to the Circle.
Children have a special rank; they haven't got decision power, but their lives (even the male ones) are more valuable than any adult male's and the common females.
Adult females (from their first blood moon on) hold the next rank. They don't hunt or fight, but make artisan works and have tons of kids.
Next in line are the Chosen Guards. They are around seven males, chosen among the best fighters in the pack to serve and protect the Favourites and specially the Light and Matriarch. They are the highest ranked males and have freedom of movement and the right to choose to obey only the Circle and Mother's orders. However, they are still males and their word or opinion isn't valuable.
The other males are just fighters and hunters; they protect and feed the pack and hope to reach the Mother's preference. They are in charge of young males' training.
Young males from ~8 to ~15 are still in training but aren't considered children anymore and aren't protected from the females desires or orders. They better learn to obey in this phase.
Elders are taken care of, but have no special rank.
Public Agenda
Moonlights firmly believe they are the true heirs of the Earth since it was promised to them by their Moon Goddess, Mother of Light, and it is their duty to conquer the Valley for her, as they consider the other packs as enemies put in their way to make them show their strenght and faith. They are determined to prove they're worthy and the true owners of the Valley... at least Mother says so.

Oh, they like to think the entire Valley is theirs, but actually the pack only owns the North-West plateaus and prairies, where they hunt their prey. Their settlement, called the Enclave, is a permanent village in the open air.
History
Trusting moon light archives, they have existed since the First Days when the Moon Goddess placed her daughters in the Valley and have them strong companions to protect them. It is true that this pack is way older than the other two that live nowadays in the Valley, but it was probably founded by rogues and small groups that chose the prairies as their home thousands of years ago, long before the Great Pack came from the North, bringing the wolves that would eventually found the Stormclouds and the Rainwinds packs. Moonlights are probably related to Clouds Over the River, an ancient, technically extinct pack that inhabited the river shores long ago.
