Shankhabhumi's Speaker, Palki Bhatiyali, likes to project the image of one of his nation's mystic thinkers; shaven-headed, plump and soft, and never happy with one word when seven or more can be jammed in instead!
A genuine philanthropist, Bhatiyali's primary venture outside the Speakers' amphitheater is supporting the Radiant Citadel's only Orphanage, which caters not only to those from within the citadel itself but as a safe haven for children finding themselves displaced from their home civilization. Palki is devoted to the idea that every person should have a fair chance at life, and that is reflected both in the Orphanage and his views and voting patterns as Speaker.
