Omega Medical

Omega Medical is the largest supplier and manufacturer of civilian-grade cybernetics in the system. The company was originally a governmental organization, founded by the Federation. Since the Federation fractured, those in power at the organization converted it into a company to better serve their own interests of profit, however those ideals of providing life-changing cybernetics to the masses didn't change. The corporation supplies the CMA with many of the smaller and cheaper versions of cybernetics so the workforce that makes the economy turn can keep working overtime without realizing it. In return, the CMA doesn't meddle with any of the, less humane tests that occur in the process of cybernetics research. In addition to providing cybernetics, Omega also controls the almost the entire healthcare and insurance industry, which gives them essentially a monopoly on the lives of unhealthy individuals. Many have protested how absurd some of the rates and costs of healthcare are, and yet no action is ever taken.
The megacorporation sits atop the throne of the business world, managing their resources and making business deals all from the comfort of Babylon Station, a massive space station once used by the Federation in its glory days. The entirety of Omega's R&D, manufacturing, corporate offices, and executive offices are inside this Station. Anarchist groups have tried in the past to disrupt or destroy pieces of the station as a way to strike back at the unfair practices the company does, but rarely does it have any effect, as the Station itself is armed to the teeth and is essentially an orbiting battleship, capable of destroying most ships before they get into attacking range.
While there is a CEO of Omega Medical, nobody knows who it is or what they do, as nearly all of the executive decisions are made from a Board of Directors that control the company. There are 9 members of the Board with one of them, a woman by the name of Williamina Dryden, being the Chairwoman of the Board, and is who most people look to as the face of the corporation.
