Session 21 - Placeholder Predicament Report in Raan | World Anvil

Session 21 - Placeholder Predicament

General Summary

Cat's Park has been freed from captivity, but until it is reintegrated into the universe, there will be no travel in or out. So where does one put such a entry? Where does it deserve to go? Who makes that choice? And is it possible to contact the stuck residents to get their opinion?

During this session, the group got some down time and used it many different ways!

Dealing With Cat's Park

With members of the Chaos Marked recently reconciled, thoughts turned toward what to do with Cat's Park. Lanasia was able identify a way that a telepath could communicate with Cat's Park, and after Vavnu Mindreader was pulled from the group of Kobolds watching over the marked eggs, they were able to determine that they could release Cat's Park locally without issue.

With this known, the group decided that the best option would be to get some civil engineers to actually do a survey of the proper placement for the Cat's Park Aperture. However, this came with a wait as the civil engineers were busy with other tasks. With no crisis looming on the horizon or horrific evil being trying to annihilate the world, the Chaos Marked looked forward to a bit of down time.

Downtime with the Chaos Marked

The various members each did their own thing, though some helped each other. Happenstance continued their recovery from their unknown ailment in the hospital, doing what she could to lend her knowledge as she drifted in and out of consciousness.

Cadok

Cadok, with help from Lamurias, spent several days doing research on the angel that inspired his weapon and armor and discovered an angel known as Uriel. Not only this, but they uncovered that there are two popular aspects to this powerful Archangel.

Uriel is an angel of light and associated with the life-giving light and heat of the Sun, a protector of the natural order who banishes darkness. In this fashion, Uriel is commonly associated with Solarius, and has in scripture been an ally and supporter. In these aspects, the angel is commonly shown as a bulwark of life and light, whose mere presence drives away the darkness and protects against the ravages of the highly-nocturnal undead.

Uriel is also known as an angel of fire and vengeance, whose temper burns with a violent fury that melts all before him. This aspect is far more violent and is commonly associated with Bastion, and vengeance, especially against undead. In this aspect Uriel is a danger to ANY enemy he comes across, as the fires of righteous fury cannot be extinguished while evil still lives.

Cadok and Lamurias surmise that Cadok originally caught the attention of the angel due to the damage and scars (and thus darkness) Cadok was inflicted with. Considering that Cadok wasn't incinerated, he is rather sure the original aspect of the (arch)angel that spoke to him was the aspect of light and protection. However, as Cadok grew in strength and burned to destroy the undead, Uriel's wrathful nature burned through and is likely the exact origin of Sundown's inspiration.

Deekin

  • Spent the first day assisting Lanasia by using a powerful item of theirs to upgrade their Darkblade of Lanasian Hunger to a Dreadblade of Lanasian Hunger
  • Disappeared, accomplishing tasks that were not shared with the group (the player had to go)

Ferrus

  • Was instrumental in letting Urveth know about Cat's Park, and causing a group of volunteers to help build the road to Tonbarony, the Hospital, and the Capulus Estate
  • Further days were spent gathering materials and making Medical Kits

Lanasia

  • Did recon against the Yuan-Ti, turned over to the city for $$$
  • Helped the engineers make the road past (and right up to the) hospital, reducing the amount of time it will take to build it by 3 days.
