Raan Extemporanis s.21 - Aedificium Recuperatio
General Summary
The Lords of Neverwhere continue to press deeper into the Aedificium, taking out the dangerous creatures that were caught here during its fateful trip from Realm Space. At least one innocent creature's life hangs in the balance, as does the mystery of why the building ended up in Neverwhere to begin with. With much of the main floor and all but one room of the basement cleared, the Lords and Lady must push on to the heart to retrieve those they may yet save.
The Lords and Lady of Neverwhere continued their plumbing of the depths of the Aedificium today, rested and refreshed from a good night's sleep, food, and drink from the kitchens. Once accomplished, it was time to plan their attack.
Aedificium Recuperatio
Having had a night to rest and recuperate within the empty rooms downstairs, the group met in the common area of the basement to plan their attack against the creature they knew would have the key to liberate Roscoe and the final key for the second floor and their ultimate goal.
Given that they had been warned about what kind of creature to expect, the group did the smart thing and planned their attack, discussing strategy before ever approaching the far-realms-contaminated creature that held the next key they would need.
Of course, before this occurred, the group had to track down a few items which had surreptitiously gone missing during their rest. They found these, including the rather large sword taken from the door. Shaded Grove, however, figured out that the creature in the center of the room was a training partner and may or may not have turned it on so Togalt had to get into a yanking match with it. And quietly turn it off and leave without anyone the wiser!
Beautifully Sharp
The group attempted to get the jump on the Glass Golem, but they made too much noise and ended up getting pounced upon by the creature instead. Many of the members were blinded temporarily by the shiny creature, and the blinding and dazing cause some friendly fire which left Togalt badly injured.
Having destroyed the golem, most of the party turned toward dealing with its remains, while Shauna remembered that the golem had been controlled by something and was able to find and destroy the controlling far realm creature to keep it from infecting another of the clockworks or members of the party.
This done, the group headed down stairs and finally got the door open to rescue Roscoe (the web developer) and get the key to finally head upstairs to the second floor; the final area!
Highlights
- The poppets will take your stuff ... to clean and repair!
- The basement cleaning creatures are still annoyed with Tordan and Shauna.
- The party found some rather illicit carvings of "Baron of Bone" Thistle
- The only people more dangerous to the party members than the enemy are ... the other party members.
- Myu Wan found a magnifying glass and has been enjoying using it!
