Session 4- The Library of Ayrin Griffynstone

General Summary

Our party after a brief rest set off searching the Crypts finding a well built area of the catacombs, man made and in good condition.

Down some stairs they discovered all long corridor with multiple doors coming off it and leading to a old Library enclave.

Within were several Cultists sorting papers and books and Ghouls acting as servents.

Another sinister Vecna Eye bobbled within.

Taking the unsuspecting would be librarians by suprise Sparko banished the eye receiving psychic backlash putting him out of action.

Big Al, Nysander and Raptor Feldon made short work of the Cultists and their servents.

Exploring the Library they found an ornate sarcophagus decorated by a stone book revealing the tomb to be of a historian named Ayren Griffynstone.

After a brief discussion a Big Al forced open the sarcophagus to reveal the remains of an ancient scholar holding an ornate book on the History of Neverwinter.

Nysander took the book and also discovered two spell scrolls within.

On further searching a number of expensive and ornate books were found and confirmation that the Tomb of the historian also was buried with his Library.

Nysander also found dark texts about the artifacts of the eye and hand of Vecna and a sinister book called the Vecna Codex.

The party headed deeper in and opened a door to a Demonic Gorrila lair and a fight seemed inevitable.

But quick thinking Feldon persuaded the Balguras that there was a free meal to be had in the corpses of the Library and later common room.

Having resolved that potential issue they discovered another cell. This one containing Sarcelle Mallinosh Seeress and Head tutor of the Diviners School.

They rescued her and Nysander removed a aborant Wizard Mark put in place by the Cultists and Nothics in a psychic battle with the otherworldly being.

In so doing discovering the secret of the Wizard Mark and Nothics

Using trusty Ernie once again Sarcelle and Umberto were sent to safety at the Cathedral.

Once more our party were plagued by another Vecna Eye which fled.

The session ends with the Party finding a dank crypt with broken urns and two distinct ornate ones emanateing cold and unease.
