Darkness should not be feared but respected. Sometimes Doiden is described as a ravaging beast swooping through the night hungry for blood. Other times he is a savior for those lost in the darkest parts of Quai Thu. Doiden rarely got involved with the squabbles of the Menagerie and much about his true nature is only know by his clerics. It is in our nature to fear what we cannot see and for that, clerics of Doiden were often resented. They would always meet at night whenever they wished to channel their holy magic and rumors would inevitably spread of wicked magic they would perform. Some of it was not unfounded however, as having darkness as an ally also meant they were ideal for more unsavory tasks.
