Serpents of the Void

Description

Great serpents who inhabit the Void known as Void Guardians are among the largest predators within the black planes of the realm of great demons and monstrosities beyond mortal comprehension. Very little is known about these creatures as very few have ever been seen in Qestra, the majority of sighting come from the Great Demon Unity, and the others come from drunken sailors of the high seas who claim to have seen the giant creatures roaming the bottom of the deepest seas, devouring all in its path.

Anatomy

Coloration

Body is mainly black to avoid being seen in its natural habitat, with teal luminescent markings throughout the entire body.

Several fins on its side to allow for rotation Tail fin at the end to allow for propulsion Large fin on upper section of body to allow for seering

Extremely small scales, almost unnoticable to the naked eye

Genetics and Reproduction

It is unkown how these creatures reproduce.

Growth Rate & Stages

Hatchling

Upon birth, Void Guardian parents break through into the material plane to house their newly born hatchling to feed upon easy prey for the next one thousand years.  

Juvenile

A juvenile will continue to feed on larger prey as it grows. They may begin to attempt to break back into the Void.  

Adolescent

A rare few adolescent Void Guardian have ever been seen in recorded history. Only after breaking into the Void does a juvenile become an adolescent Void Guardian.  

Adult

An adult Void Guardian has never been seen in recorded history. The existance of one is often doubted.

Ecology and Habitats

From hatchling to just before adolescence, they reside within very deep oceans, very rarely to be seen near the surface. From adolescence to adulthood they reside, soley, within the void.

Biological Cycle

Beginning when they are placed into the oceans of a realm outside of the Void, and ending when they are able to reach the Void, they are able to feed on large deep ocean creatures and land mass for sustinance, after which they are too large to be able to sustain themselves and are forced to go back to the Void or suffer starvation.

These creatures cannot be domesticated by any known means.

It is unkown how intelligent these creatures are, but there are some who have been seen to have sentience and sapience.
Lifespan
No one knows how long the lifespan of a Void Guardian is, as no corpse has ever been found to have died of natural causes. They are estimated to live for many thousands of years.
