Spectrevial

Followers of Ao'di employ a multitude of methods to beseech her wisdom, either by dream walking in her labyrinthine realm or, on rare occasion, communing with the goddess directly. Most field hands, deacons, and other working class societal members maintain a tradition of rituals to achieve this connection, but dedicated chemists have discovered a vaporous concoction that seems to reliably draw her attention to whomever inhales said compound. Because of its gaseous nature the material is brewed and corked in a contained environment, and as so this smokey substance has been given the common title of spectrevial.
Brewed specifically for use of archbishops of the order of Ao'di (commonly known as conveyors), this combination of potent alcohols and reagents will instill the imbiber with a rapid onset dizziness, followed by a strong hallucinogenic effect. It is through this effect that the direct word of Ao'di is said to be taken. If her commune is absolutely necessary, such as if a dreamer's poor omen need be interpreted, an order will organize a private sermon where conveyors will act as mediators to the will of the goddess. This temporary ascension comes at a price, however, as it can severely hamper neural functions if not taken in controlled doses.
It has been rumored that this efficacious substance has been used for other unseemly ceremonies. However, its impact is so uniquely parallel to divine purpose that partakers have reported clairvoyant-like visions able to detect the whereabouts, memories, and sensory abilities of others under the influence at the same time. Because of this the churches of Ao'di throughout different cities also maintain an eerily accurate knowledge of recent events between regions separated by many days' travel.
