1500 (24 years ago) September – The Great Pirate Era: Having attained Wealth, Fame, and Power, The Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, is executed at Loguetown at 15:15. With his final words, he encourages people to go search for the One Piece treasure, leading to a boom in piracy that marks this moment as the end of Roger’s Era and the beginning of the Great Pirate Era. This Era would also come to be known by some as Whitebeard’s Era. Several figures that would leave their mark in the future attend Roger’s execution, including the likes of Crocodile, Doflamingo, Moria, Mihawk, Dragon, Shanks, and Buggy (Chapter 1: The series begins. It’s worth noting that Sengoku commented Ace was born 15 months after Roger’s execution, which would mean Roger was executed around September 1500 if we rely on Ace’s birthday)
1500 (24 years ago) April – Roger leaves his lover Portgas D. Rouge pregnant with a child (Chapter 550: Sengoku claims Rouge became pregnant 20 months before Ace’s birth in 1502. If taking Ace’s birthday into account, this would set it at around April 1500)
It was said that Gol D. Roger was acting less like a pirate and more like a man in love while on the island and the World Government searched the island for any signs of his child. Portgas D. Rouge lived here and gave birth to the infant that she would name "Gol D. Ace" after sustaining him in her womb for twenty months to protect the child from the Marines and government officials. After giving birth to Ace, she died from the extended pregnancy.[1]
Ninsun was killed during one of the raids on Kutsk in late 1500, along with her yet-unborn child
He'd stayed away for a few days, but he wasn't sure where else to turn, no other connections, even as coincidental as his link to her. He spent the morning tucked into a harsh wooden chair at her side, lost in his own thoughts. It seemed the longer he was awake, the less he could remember. He inspects the scars on his arms - and he vividly remember.. well, not how he got them, but he can hear his crew, his family, screaming for him. He can remember Killer clutching him close as Wire and Heat cover them. the faces and voices of others, drifting in and out as he ponders the marks.
Brichtrede Eustace doesn't know who he is, has no answers for whys back, why he's here, like this. She's not able to talk much at all, but he sees it in her face, that confusion to who he is sitting at her bedside.
She has another round of surgeries to help with the burns, Kidd wandering the strangle familiar streets of Kutzk in a daze. He's never really explored the city - each day was work, finding food, finding shelter, finhsing clothes. svaaing and fighting for enough scraps to make it to the next day. one day, he'll be back to that, but the doc feeds him, and the nurses wash his clothes when they make him take a bath, and he's stuck in a strange limbo
"wee yin, what is your name?" her voice is soft, barely there, just a breath. but it's strady, and he looks up in surprise that she's speaking to hm at all. his mouth is dry, and his heart in his throat, but he doesn't know why What is supposed to say? I'm Kidd Eustass. If he tells her, would she think him some bastard son of her late husband? would that not be worse, to sully the reputation of a dead man while she still grieves him? would it be enough for her to not send him away? "Im just some kid." he has finally. "the doctors are under the impression you're my nephew" he shrugs. he never said that, he just hadn't told them he wasn't when they assumed. "You certainly look like you could be," she says with a chuckle - a dry painful think that threatens to turn to a cough. he's sitting up to get her water without even realizing he's moved.
her PT's coming along well, she's moving aorund on her own - abest slowly. she's jsut.. she has some issues holding things still, her range of motion is still limited, her joints stiff.
Unable to care for all the children, Fergus sold the youngest ones to the Marines in 1501. He would claim he'd done so because he had too many mouths to feed, and the Marines promised him they would care for his youngest sons.
He doesn't know this boy. He WILL know him, but this Killer, this child, Kidd has never met. A sobbing tiny toddler, his tears so deep they rock his whole little frame, and Kidd - he's not a comforter - he's never been the shoulder someone cries on. Even after Wano, the best he could do was turn his back and give Killer space to grieve in private. He doesn't know this part of the story though - if this is something Killer never told him, or something new, unique to this time around like so many other things. He looks at the other children in the cage as he lifts Killer free, faces a mix of brave, tear strewn, fearful. Killer looks to be the youngest, but only one of the children looks to be anywhere close to Kidd's age. "how'd.. why are you all in a cage?" he asks the oldest boy. He doesn't answer at first, picking up one of the other little ones and helping them past the manged bars. Kidd wont put Killer down, but -pulls- the bars to make it easier for them to climb down without getting hurt The boy wets his lips. "Some... some of us.. got sold." he says faintly, whispering the last word, nodding to Killer. The metal sings in its place around him; Killer hiccups in his cries. "Who would!?" "Single parents with too many mouths," the child says bitterly, sounding too much like he's had time to turn it over in his head, "Get a few shiny coins for the ones to small to work and its win-win."
Unable to care for all the children, Fergus sold the youngest ones to the Marines in 1501. He would claim he'd done so because he had too many mouths to feed, and the Marines promised him they would care for his youngest sons. Keillan would escape, and attempt to return home, only to be chased off by his own father.
The little boy still sits where he fell from the curb. his lip is bloody, tears still streaming down his face, but he utters not a sound. Those blue eyes, they lock with Kidd's and such a small face should never look so lost. It was so hard for him to find his way home again, the past few days filled with the unknown and terror that he'd be stolen away again. Only to find out he'd never been missed. That his family where upset to see him again. That he was some terrible unwanted *burden* Kidd glanced around to the unseen eyes watching, and he *flung* his anger out at them, all the rage and hate building in his heart, *wanting* them to fall to their knees in fear, *willing* them to force themselves into submission. The boy sobbed at that, drawing Kidd's attention back. Just like he had only a few days before, Kidd haulled the tiny child up into his arms, lifting him from the metaphorical cage instead of a physical one this time. He did not look back. niether of them did.
"Am fear nach misnich, cha bhuannaich" she murmured, "do you know what that means?" he watched her, shaking his head no. "It means to find good things in life, you must be brave." He seemed to be thinking it over, mouthing the words "My middle name is Misnich." "It is. Someone must have thought you very brave, to give you such a name."
