Pack is decimated in a turf conflict in 1501.
- Only known survivor is Sammi who was a 12 year old pup.
- Missing from the dead is an almost 2 year old pup named William.
When 18, Sammi puts out missing posters with a sketch of what William might look like if they survived, based on the found photos taken shortly before the tragedy, believing her young cousin may still be alive since the body was never found.
Killer finds such a poster, and - after some debate - returns
Kidd to his biological family. Kidd lives with her as William for two months, where she gets him a tutor and wants to enroll him in school. She was kind to him, and he liked her, but he missed Killer. He also realized she could not afford to care for him in the long run, living alone in a very small single room apartment, with barely enough income to feed them both. Kidd thought it best to leave before she had come to realize it for herself and had to turn him away.
