You know well she has promised unimaginable wealth, treasures, and protection to any servant who brings her the staff of the mage. or head. Either. Both. I can imagine quite a lot. It is such a shame then I know only you Spellbinder and no wizards.

  Zalantis are one of the many insectoid races of Khrysalis, a planet deep in the Beta Quadrant ruled by System Lord Morganthe. Proud warriors, the Zalanti were often used as strategists and martial fighters.   During the rebellion in the Alpha Quadrant, many Zalanti were able to escape and find their way as free beings. Much like the Betazhan, the Zalanti found it hard to find acceptance in their new homes, but those who get to know them find they are fiercely loyal to those they care for. Zalanti often are consulted as strategists or commanders against Imperial attacks, espeically by the Suteran Alliance.  

Strong of Mind and Body

Zlanati are insectoids with mandibles, compound eyes, and antennae and resemble praying mantises slightly. They also have the unusual trait of having four arms: one primary pair and one secondary and slightly smaller pair. This natural advantage has lead to very unique fighting styles.   Zalanti typically are adept at honing both physical and mental fortitude with great patience and skill. Any adversary must typically overwhelm them in number or force suddenly and without warning if they wish to succeed. In a war of attrition, the Zalantis usually wins.  

Community Ties

Zalanti communities are very close knit and loyal to one another. To outsiders, earning the respect of a Zalantis is confusing and vague. Incredible feats of valor or displays of admiration or loyalty do not seem to sway the opinions of the Zalanti. Each Zalantis seems to look for something different in an outsider before they will trust or defend them. Many even refuse to reveal what it was that a person did to earn their trust, perpetuating the mystery.  

Defender and Protector

Zalanti adventurers typically are either on a personal quest to save or protect a loved one or they may take it upon themselves to defend those who cannot defend themselves. Their strategic minds and combat prowess has lead them to become mercenaries, commanders, and advisors to many different groups.   Their limited telepathic abilities enable them to coordinate deadly ambush strikes, and their unique battle styles are often foreign and unpredictable to their adversaries.  

Zalanti Names

Zalanti rely primarily on telepathy for communication, speaking audibly with their mandibles only in formal situations. Because of their insectile physiology, their “speech-names” can sometimes be harsh and awkward for members of other races to pronounce.   Many, however, have taken on the practice of taking on "speech-names" that others can speak more easily, though even these still sound closer to their original language.   Sample Betazhan speech-names:
Cesca, Halicon, Jchk, Keskodai, Korskal, Noskaru, Schect, Thast, T’sen, Vishkesh, Xylit, and Zenka.

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence and Dexterity scores increases by 1.  

Age

Zalanti reach physical maturity at 2 years old, and typically only live to around 45 years old though some have been known to live to their mid fifties.  

Alignment

The Zalanti follow their own moral codes but treand towards helping others or at the very least opposing tyranny. They value and protect the freedom of their families and friends as well as their own with their life.  

Size

Zalantis range anywhere from 5ft to 6ft. Your size is Medium.  

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.  

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Zalanti, and Khrysari. Khrysari is the common vocal language of the insectoids of Khrysalis. It has several sounds that can only be made by the native inhabitants and not other humanoids, though a rare few can make a very close aproximation.  

Exotic Combatant

You have 2 sets of arms, a primary and smaller secondary pair which means you can hold up to 4 items or weapons. However, you can only gain the benefit of 1 shield or similar armor bonuses. You may wield up to 2 two-handed weapons at a time, but must still follow the normal action economy.   You have proficiency in quaterstaffs, spears, scimitars, shortswords, tridents, and small arms.  

Telepath

You can telepathically link minds with another creature within 40ft of you. Both of you can mentally communicate back and forth. You do not need to see them to establish this connection, but you must know their general direction or location.  

Stoic

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
